'14 NC RB Elijah Hood (UNC Verbal)

The 2014 class may have a running back committing soon. No one, outside of Louis Nix, came forward during the spring scrimmage as a legitimate contender for carrying a football any distance behind a capable offensive line. Sony Michel will announce his college commitment on Friday afternoon. Last Saturday, he witnessed ineptitude, and, as a south Florida athlete, he is aware of the competition immediately ahead of him(Bryant and Folsom). Michel, Starks, Hood, are just a few of the possibilities in this class. This coaching staff is recruiting with confidence. Notre Dame will acquire a very good running back in 2014.

ND and Elijah and family have had very positive contact recently, Wiltfong feels there is a good chance he will change his prediction back over to ND from UNC as long as everything goes well this weekend.

Tough to know what's going to happen but I think it may be a case of him waiting to get the ok from his parents before he picks ND.

He says he may be close to making a choice but he's not sure, also said he may visit other schools but it depends how the visit to ND goes, which hints at a possible commitment if the visit goes well.

But he is also considering taking an overnight trip to UNC on the advice of Bentley Spain.

In non recruiting news he was at the Shrine Bowl combine last weekend. But he was unhappy with his performance despite some impressive numbers. He didn't realise he was running the 40 on a track so he had to run in tennis shoes, ran a 4.51 hand timed but feels he should have been faster as it was on a track and hand timed 40s have a tendency to be faster than electronic times. That was good for the second fastest time for an RB, but he's 45 pounds heavier than the only RB who beat him. Also recorded the combines 3rd best verticle jump of 37.7 inches.

This article seems to back up the my thoughts on the scout article above. If his parents are impressed by ND and are comfortable with him going that far from home, ND should be back in the drivers seat imo.

Coach also said Clemson have been coming on strong recently.

I want this kid in a ND uniform as bad as the next guy but lets just let his visit play out. We all know this recruitment wont be over until February anyways
