Sorry I meant first 4 games:
James Madison: 34-39 411 yds 5 TDs
Maryland: 30-43 338 yds 3 TDs
Baylor: 45-51 656 yds 8 TDs
Texas: 25-35 268 yds 4 TDs
Clear Heisman front runner and top QB in college football that then came crashing down in 5 straight losses.
It's a marathon not a sprint.
I think you could say the same thing for a number of players. Kyle Orton and Denard Robinson come to mind. No doubt Winston has a lot of work to do to even be in the Heisman conversation, but I think it's safe to say, even after one performance, the kid is going to be special.
To be completely honest, I've had the opportunity to see him up close and personal and he's the best I've ever seen at that age (senior in HS). I'm not a QB guru, but I know a few, including RG3's personal QB trainer, and that comparison has been made.
And physical tools aside, the thing that separates him from top college QBs who failed to make it at the next level is the attitude. Winston may never win the Heisman, lead FSU to a NC or be picked 1st overall in the draft, but the kid is not going to fail.
