i call bs on almost all numbers high school kids claim...squat/ bench/ 40 times....

Maybe some, but I don't doubt the majority.... they ultimately have to answer up to them against their fellow players and S&C coaches.

I wanna see him return kicks and punts

I feel like we say this every year that we want 1-2 kids from each class to return kicks but lets be honest, devin hester in his prime couldnt return with the scheme or lack of scheme ND has had on punt returns. For years this has been a problem/joke.

Oh I know. I was giving some of the guys crap because of the obvious hypocrisy

Well if they straight up said, "bench doesn't matter", then hypocrisy it is, but if they were specifically saying that the bench measurement at the combine doesn't matter, then the two are really nothing alike, like I said.

Many of us considered Tarean a luxury or the cherry on top (myself included). He is now VERY VERY crucial and better be ready to go.

Slot position
1. CJ
2. Cam
3. Folston
4. James O

I think James has the best shot at starting.

winner winner....work ethic, conditioning and skills...he wasn't a high powered recruit...he played in MINN so lack of exposure/competition...went to the opening but was injured...this kid has IT

Carlisle? I think Amir has to be on that list if not first on it

Amir was the first person mentioned in BK's presser. Seems like he'll be option 1A. The other guy mentioned was Prosise. Went on about him. Size. Hands. Speed. Blocking.

Of course he couldn't really say anything about the guys who haven't gotten onto campus yet, so that doesn't rule them out.

And this is what I love about our versatility. We end up with a logjam at safety, have a couple receivers bounce, and BAM Prosise is running the slot. It makes a lot of sense to me to see him there, but I wouldn't be counting out this freshman class. There are a lot of talented 6'1" guys that can flat play at the receiver/hybrid spot.

Don't count Smith out, everything is sticking to his fingers this spring, and he can block. But this is a perfect example of how the sky isn't falling. Go Tarean, make it happen!

Smith is not championship quality at WR. Goodman was even better then him IMO.

Getting back at the offensive configuration. Kelly and Martin sound like this year their could be two running backs and/or a slot-back.

The first player for the second RB position would be Carslile. This is the guy you try to get a linebacker match up on. I bet Folston and Bryant can play here.

The slot position is a blocker and it sounds like Kelly envisions it like the double tight end last year where Eifert would split come in, go in motion, etc. In other words a blocking body, someone who can drag across the middle, come back, etc. I surely see Prosise, Onwaulu, and Smith getting reps here. I could see them bouncing Smith outside to confuse offenses.

I think that is one thing the Irish will do to confound defenses this year. Bounce players between position groupings. That is the value of Bryant and Folston. ESPECIALLY IF THEY CAN LEARN THE OFFENSE FAST. And then BLOCK. Any one who can master these skills will have a great chance of seeing the field this fall!

Love that Folston is wearing Rocket's old number. I'm as excited about this guy as I've been about any offensive player in a while.
