I don't follow twitter but according to that article Chase sent out a pretty depressing tweet recently.

Yeah, heard about this last night. He seemed pretty down.

Hope it all works out for him!

Me too. I wish the best for Chase because it was working. But he needs to consider the rest of his life. Whatever he decides I will be behind him, and wish him the best!

Really? Possibly career-ending? I tore my labrum in HS and missed the second half of one game, played the rest of the season with a brace. It hurts, but you're not gonna do any more damage by playing with it.

Sucks for him. Where do you suppose he was on the depth chart? Probably 3rd team? This makes Upto's alleged ascension up the talent ladder even more important.

Have you ever considered that, ummmm, not all tears are equal?

He was probably 3rd team heading into spring camp, but I wouldn't have been surprised to see him rise to 2nd team and rotate in frequently at DE were he 100%.

Yeah, he was kind of an anomaly as a recruit. If I remember right, was a 3/4 guy with not a ton of offers, but a lot of quality offers.

Edit: I could have looked at his front page, lol. Not as many good offers as I thought. But regardless, he would have played this year.

This just sucks. Chase, dern it, let's get this fixed and get ready to roll, again! After watching that first practice video I had you penciled in picking Wittek up after busting his little USC a**.

Ok then, 2014. Did you work out today? Why not? No EXCUSES!

"Tate Nichols Syndrome" = medical scholarship methinks. Don't know this but.... feeling is strong.

Chase is a tough guy. Perfect defensive mentality. Very unfortunate that he may well not get to show it.

has there been any good news at all lately? :p

Theres a silver lining in everything. As for Chase, whether he is playing football again, he's set for life. the 40 year decision is thrown out all the time and i dont think some people grasp it. he gets hurt twice at bama, hes gone, and would be looking for a school to get into to finish a degree. ND he will have his education still paid for and getting a top of the line degree. With that said, hes a competitor and I wouldnt be surprised in the least to see him on the field again.

love your optimism and hope 110% you are correct....dude has a huge upside and staff saw him good enough to burn his red shirt for the navy game where he performed quite well.

just a very tough injury for a DL to return from, obviously

Had successful surgery today according to BK and I think Chase himself tweeted about it.

Unless he returns and gets meaningful snaps, and with the way we are recruiting heavily on the DL, I don't see him as much of a contributor for this team.

Now, I hope he comes back, and gets to play, even if it's minimal, because if you earn it, you shall enjoy the rewards.

Best of luck mr.chase

I can't figure out if the tears from my eyes are due to laughter or due to pain.
