^^

Nothing new really. Wiltfong felt after talking with people in the know prior to his visits, ND was in the driver's seat and they held off 2 other programs this weekend.

Seems like he's very close to pulling the trigger per the quotes at the end of the article + closing copy from Sapp. Sapp basically says if he decides shortly it's going to be for ND.

That article was from before his other visits though

still could hold true though

While true, that article recapped his visit to ND and was posted before he went to Michigan. Not saying he still may decide soon for ND, just pointing out things could have changed a little bit.

You're right... I though he had updated it since he just linked it out... no idea why he would re-post as if it was "current" info.

Perhaps this balances the undue panic in the Cole thread. Signing day was less than 3 weeks ago. Please chill out.

TP is back but he wont be posting as often. I still think we could/ will land him. He still has more connections with our program.

I'll be a homer for a minute, well a lifetime I guess, but Dad is all ND isn't he?! Maybe that's changed, who knows.

More importantly, ND's ACC affliation gives him more chances to play near home as opposed to the B1G going to 9 conference games restricting their footprint on Tv aside from the B1G Network.

Not to mention most, if not all of ND games being on national TV.

Good chance he gets to play in China if they get that deal done.

I've read that he will make a visit to UNC on March 9th and could decide soon after. ISD mods say that will likely bode well for ND if he stays on that schedule.

That means it is less than 50 weeks away!
PANIC!!!!!

Quite honestly, RB is the position I'm least worried about. I think we only need 1, but 2 would be fine; and there seems to be a plethora of top tier RB in this class. Personally (being a homer) I hope we get Starks. Bishop Gorman kids have been feeding Oklahoma and USC too long ; it would be a great trend to keep kids coming from there aftter Stanley, but I'd be happy with Hood or any of the other stud RBs in this class. We'll get at least one; just not sure which one.

Our staff takes a different approach to recruiting. Everything I have read indicates that we encourage recruits to take their time and make sure it is a well thought out decision. I believe Michigan has been known to pressure interested kids into committing early

This was what I was getting at more in Hood's thread yesterday. The guys that come to ND aren't as susceptible to the hard sell. They know what they want when they see it, or really know what they don't want.

I am sorry I obfuscated my point with talk of cash envelopes and bj's. The picture I was trying to create is that those things are out there and think how hard dealing with all of that makes seeing things for what they really are?

There is an update on ISD. IM8? Lax? clashmore?

Cliffnotes:

-Detailed Michigan visit, talks about quotes maybe being a little misconstrued because reporters were calling and calling immediately after the visit while everything was quite fresh.
-Says when he sat down to think about all three places and what he wants in a school that Notre Dame is still the best fit.
-Said that basically he is still considering UNC but will almost surely go to ND, Mich, or OSU... and that while Mich and Ohio might have narrowed the lead ND had that he considers it narrowed "only because ND had such a big lead to begin with."
