Ishpeming prides themselves on toughness, quickness, angles, and being smart up front. It's been their calling card for years-being very small upfront-yet tough as nails...so it was nothing new for them...It was obvious that they were better conditioned, physically stronger(because of better work in weight room-its where the kids live during summer), and light years ahead in coaching technique. It was fun to watch as they picked apart this team that looked so much bigger/physically stronger(LOOKED being the key word) than them. Malik wasn't the only big guy upfront for his team, and these dudes were gassed quick. Like another poster said, it was no question Malik is very talented and when he wanted to (and had the stamina) he was a force. I remember once play particularly-Ishpeming's RB (who will play D2, and isn't slow...just lacks size) caught a swing pass and had the corner-Malik ran him down from behind and just slammed him...so i was very impressed by his closing speed. Hopefully this will serve as a wake-up call for himself and coaches that they need to be better conditioned going into his senior season.
