I think he is good enough to get drafted or at least picked up in free agency as long as he shows he is healthy and back to 100%. He had a shoulder injury didnt he? That is not a career-threatening injury or anything. I believe people were predicting him to be a 2-4 round talent depending on how he played this year.

Does any one know how long the appeal process takes?

I hope it works out for him. Not only would this give him a better chance at the league, but he would probably be able to finish grad school as well. What's his major btw?

is this was already his 5th year (presuming he was doing a Masters) what can he go back and do during his 6th year? (another Masters?)

Too bad he won't be back. Truly hurts his NFL status and ND would be better served with him in the secondary,

So sorry guys. I was told by someone directly in the program that Slaughter was coming back. I was informed incorrectly.

just like 5th year players they need to be asked back so maybe you had good info that ND was going to bring him back it was just that he didn't get the NCAA clearance.

This really stinks. Hope he gets a good shot at an NFL roster.

Bummer. We really could have used him in the secondary next season.

Hope he makes a roster. It's very difficult to come back 100% from an Achilles injury.

I wonder if one of the walk-ons will get a scholarship now. Maybe Joe Schmidt?

I hate this. This kid has no negatives through-out his career. This kid deserved a sixth year. Sad the NCAA is so horrible.
