Urban Meyer walked into Palm Beach Central High School on Monday and got some bad news from hotly recruited Broncos junior offensive tackle Kc McDermott.

"Are we in your top five?" the Ohio State coach asked, according to a source's account of the meeting.

"No, sir," McDermott replied, never losing eye contact.

Meyer responded, "Are you considering us at all?"

"No, sir," McDermott said.

This kid must have heard about Urbie's ways in advance.

Yes we are. He's mentioned us before in his top group. Very real shot with this kid and about 4-5 other top lineman.

I wouldn't think so. We'll definitely accept early commits if they are the right guys. But generally I think you'll see the staff focus on a smaller group out of the gates and go from there. Unless the guys we want are ready to commit early (which I don't think they will be) I don't expect us to fill up so early like we did last year

According to ISD, we've only offered 12 OL thus far. With the exception of Brown, Pruitt, and Mustipher, all of them are high 4- and 5- prospects. I'm sure the staff would accept early verbals from most of these guys.

I think Miami is the favorite because of a family connection I believe. Good position early besides that.

Mason Cole and McDermott out of Florida would be great.

Only 6 players are scheduled as of now, and he is not one of them, but we should start getting a much clearer picture of who is coming in the next couple weeks after the staff has time to hit '14 hard.
