Pretty sure he has an actionable offer. In his last interview with ISD he said that Diaco has tried to get him to commit already.

This years Junior day could turn out to be very competitive. As of right now we have Blazevich, Trumbetti, and Hayes. I know its only 3 but there are plenty of other quality recruits we could get to come as well. I imagine these junior days are significantly better when you get a lot of talent to come.

Yeah, I'm sure it is. I just think he wants to get his mom on campus prior to committing. Just seems to be the vibe from the reports.

I've read where he said he wants to take his time and explore his options. Doesn't want to rush his decision. I fully expect him to be apart of the class and IMO will be sometime in the spring. That's my gut talking though so tifwiw.

Yeah. He also wanted to get his mom to the campus before committing.

If mom is visiting, then all bets are off as far as "taking things slow" goes. Very few places impress parents as well as Notre Dame does.

Agreed, just keep in mind a lot of the big boys haven't been getting after him yet. Once he trips to those places they probably will. Food for thought.

ND is taking 4 up front this cycle. One will be a cat. Have to figure Malike McDowell is no. 1 on the list for that true DE spot. Andrew Williams no. 1 for the cat spot. Surely they will try to nab a DT/NG type as well and already have the other DE spot occupied with Jay Hayes. One of the mods on II stated ND wasn't looking for an instant commit and I get the sense they want to wait a while to see where some of the other top targets land before putting on the full court press. Kid will be a stud and I hate to call him a plan B type of guy because any other year I would be pumped if he committed tomorrow. Fact is ND is looking at taking 20 this cycle and SHOULD try to nab every no.1 guy on their board before settling for talent that they would have normally taken the past 10 years or so. jmo.

That was my feeling too. His tackling is kind of up and down. One play he'll hit the guy and drive him forward, the next he'll latch on and spin to the ground to try and whip the ball carrier. The later will work at the high school level, but it doesn't work well at the next level. That said, I do like his motor though, he attacks. Hard to teach intensity, easy to teach tackling.

well true, but he got his offer at camp last June so the fact that he is still uncommitted could be seen as "taking things slow"

still getting no respect from Rivals as he's not in there Top 250.

Pretty shocked that Rivals has him and Martini outside of their 4:s: players. Dunno why some scouts hate Martini's "athletic ability" on film... seemed just fine to me for a sophomore.

Yeah. I know Mike Farrell in particular has been vocal about his lack of love for Martini. He basically does not think he is anywhere near the 250. Hope Greer can prove him and the other doubters wrong.

He watched on of their games this year and raved about Randolph. But then stated the he thinks Martini isn't athletic enough to play LB. Said he will need to add weight and play Dline if he wants to be sucessful at the collegiate level. Definitely don't agree.

Martini will be just fine. Not really concerned with Farrell's thoughts. Trumbetti is gonna be a beast just want him to be beasting here!

Is this guy a DE or OLB for us? Tape says 6'4", 240, but he moves really well, which is evident by him playing receiver in his vid/

Pretty sure he's a DE. He has the frame to put on more weight.

And btw, his 247 profile says 250. Maybe that's more recent?

I get that he may grow bigger, and 240/250 isn't 'small' for incoming DEs, but check his tape if you have time. Doesn't seem physical enough for a DE, but runs like a deer (I say this claiming zero scouting talent whatsoever, lol).

His athletic ability is off the charts! Watching him run is impressive!

Kid needs to get stronger but moves really well for his size. Travesty he's not at the very least a 4 star on Rivals.

I see what you mean. But it's hard to determine who will pan out into a good DE in Diaco's system because it requires discipline to 2 gap. I don't care where they put him, I like him.
