We only got two DL in this class -- two really good DL, but only two. Take a look at the DL haul for Alabama this year. When we start pulling in that kind of depth, we will truly be in the championship discussion year in and year out.

We definately got a better OL haul than them and we didn't take 16 RBs in this class like Saban did, so I'm not sure I'd trade classes with Bama or anything, but I look at their DL haul and I just drool.

All of that said, I am very very happy with this class. It is the best we've had since 08.

First of all, I would add Matuska to that and say we got 3, but thats besides the point. I mentioned "Front 7", not just defensive line. That being said, Bama runs a 4-3, so if you are going to compare our defensive line recruits, you would add our OLB recruits as well. Which makes a DL pull of 5 guys, four of which are unanimous top 100 players in the country. Two of those are unanimous top 10 players overall.

Ridiculous class... ridiculous...

So happy right now. It's going to be a great birthday weekend after a rough few months for me.

I totally agree. The strength of this team is already the front seven, oline and running game. What we needed was depth in those areas. We have that now.

Skill players alone do not make championship caliber teams. Blue chip Depth on the lines does.

I would add that the guys on the secondary are very elite as well. I mean Luke and Redfield have the potential to be stars. The other guys there are pretty awesome too, if you ask me.

Personally I think this is a better recruiting class than 2008. The high end guys in this class are REALLY high end. And I am adamant that the WRs in this class are extremely underrated, but forget the meaningless stars those guys are playmakers. Stud dbs, stud rbs...look at the OLine!

AND I am very confident that this coaching staff is much better equipped to develop all of this young talent than was the 2008 staff.

Anyone know where I can watch the replay of his commitment. I was working out and missed it....damn!

It was mainly "Program will begin shortly" followed by "buffering", followed by "buffering", followed by "lost signal".

I did actually hear about a half dozen words of dialog.

And unlike '08 players don't HAVE to be thrown into the fray before there time. The big uglies can develop Divison 1 muscle and technique, the RBs can learn about picking up the blitz, WRs can learn routerunning and blocking, and the a young QB can learn the speed of the college game in practice.

I don't get why we would waste our time.

This is why Wooly!!!

Anything is possible!!!

P.S. Reading through the early parts of recruiting threads is great entertainment. About every single poster on here has said things that don't hash out / look quite different in retrospect. I'd suggest to everyone giving it a shot.

With any luck at all, this flat solves the Dline quality and depth into the three-year projection future [since we're going to get at least three -probably four- real good ones next cycle.] Now we need to straighten out the linebacking depth and positioning and this is going to be top-five defense every year.

I think we blew it up. They weren't expecting that many people to access the webcast. The power of IE.

Ha! I just got a phonecall from a friend who doesn't even follow this stuff. All he said was: Did he sign?
