Does anyone know where this is written? Sapp posted the rule the other day, or thought he did, and it didn't say anything about only one call during a dead period.

I don't think there is any limit on the number of calls the coaches can make, unless there is another rule that Sapp didn't know about and I didn't find.

13.1.3.1.1 Exception—Football. [FBS/FCS] In football, one telephone call to an individual (or the individual’s relatives or legal guardians) may be made from April 15 through May 31 of the individual’s junior year in high school. Additional telephone calls to an individual (or the individual’s relatives or legal guardians) may not be made before September 1 of the beginning of the individual’s senior year in high school; thereafter, such telephone contact is limited to once per week outside of a contact period. During a contact period, such telephone contact may be made at the institution’s discretion.

Contact periods are one of the 4 defined periods (contact, evaluation, dead and quiet)
