This is not the thread for me. I watch everything

I too tend to be a movie buff and will watch many different genres...but I do stay away from love story dramas generally. I will watch rom coms tho

By the way...those that don't like musicals...Gene Kelly was the most athletic actor I ever saw...Jackie Chan looked up to him along with Buster Keaton.

My suggestion is to take them for what they are. Political movies tend toward propaganda, action films are usually take you away/popcorn movies, comedies range from dry intellectual to 3 Stooges. The best advice some one told me about movies, try not to go in with high expectations and watch the movies before you read the book (book is almost always better).

I have and never will watch any Tyler Perry film, don't need to see a guy dressed as a lady the whole time. He produces/creates these movies right? Then get an actress.

I know I'm touching the third rail here, but I've never seen "Rudy." When I saw the previews when it first came out, I thought it looked puke-inducingly schmaltzy. And now that I've heard about what a self-aggrandizing prick the real Rudy is, I have even less desire to watch it.

I watched it – once. When my son was quite young and Christmas was nearing, he was with my wife at a video rental store and saw "Rudy" in his ND jacket on the cover of the VHS. It was in a "get it out of here" bargain bin for sale for a dollar. He was excited when he gave it to me so we sat and watched it. I put on my best dad smile and told him I loved it.

Now that he's older it's a standing joke between us for all the reasons you mentioned. He's apologized a number of times in his 25 years.

I'd suggest the British movie "Bed-Sitting Room" a post-apocalyptic film in which most of the human race is turned into furniture.

This movie is so rare that there are places on the internet which claim that it does not exist ... or that it has been confiscated by agencies unmentionable.

Never seen The Godfather or Goodfellas. Every now and then those movies will come up in conversation with my friends, and I'll act like I've seen it so I don't have my "Man Card" questioned.

I'll add the original trilogy of Star Wars onto my opinion as well. Empire Strikes Back is one of the greatest movies ever made IMO.
