Going to be a fight to keep him, I think we will though. Hope Jalon and the rest of the Mob are staying in his ear, we need this kid.

Why is it going to be a fight to keep him? Has he said anything that would give us reason for concern? Some people read way too much into twitter comments.

I think we are pre-disposed to expect everything to go to s-it between the end of the season and signing day. So far so good this year......

In reality, keeping both RBs poses a challenge, but in the end, we get 'em both. Auburn doesn't worry me.

I agree. the last two weeks of the recruiting period are always a bit tense and we tend to hand on every word. I have tons of confidence in the staff to keep this extraordinary group together. I haven't really seen a group come together like this before...the chemistry is very strong.

I do think - with both of these guys - we benefited from a inexplicable lack of interest from SEC powers, and from our exceptional regular season. The shine is a bit off our regular season at this point, and at least one of those SEC schools has a new coach who's interested in them and who is nothing to sneeze at.
But if they picked Notre Dame for the right reasons - and they certainly seem to have - then I don't think we have much to worry about. Auburn, after all, gets rolled by Alabama every year, not just on special occasions.

There is not one single word in any of his tweets that makes him sound like he is wavering. I guess following recruiting isn't for everyone

It's not what he said but rather who he has been talking too and according to Christian the interest is mutual and this is a situation to watch. I'm not saying or implying he is decommitting but I am saying it something to watch and the staff is going to have to stay on him. It's not a matter of a having the shoulders for recruiting, I'm just posting what has been stated by people with legitimate sources that this is a situation to watch.

As long as he is just talking I am ok. If he takes a visit then I will start getting nervous (see Folston, Tarean).

How about the fact that its been reported that he has open dialogue with a bunch of different coaches right now? And that he had o be talked out of taking a visit this week? It's not about the tweet its about everything else. Neither of our RBs are solid right ow and that's a fact.

And if they aren't, then oh well. Some of you guys are stressing about the wrong things. Come February 6th, the right players will be on the team. If Bryant and Folston want to go somewhere else, then don't let the door hit you on the way out.

The guys that WANT to be on the team will be on the come August.

That is nice if you don't care about winning.

But I want them to want to be on the team

Nice sentiment, but if we took only took kids who were 100% we'd have been nowhere near Miami this year. Or ever.

I want to win just as much the next guy but when we recruit guys that aren't completely sold in Notre Dame it usually doesn't end well (Aaron Lynch)

Tend to agree with this line of thinking. Did Stanford build a program with 5:s: players? No, they did it by getting guys with the right mentality who were completely invested.

I'm most frustrated by the fact that this cirus of the past two weeks is directly affecting us with current and potential recruits.

Tuitt. Also loads of people that were on the fence but ended up here or made a last minute decision for us (Teo, Golson, Niklas, etc). **** goes both way. What should worry us about their recruitment is that they both wanted teams in the SEC to pay attention to them (or in Bryant's case Florida schools) and now that they are they might rethink their pledge.

The best thing about Bryant is...

He's gonna have a heck of an offensive line to run behind.

Our run game is about to explode imo.

This is another reason a guy like Lacy was so effective. It's tough taking down a guy his size and even tougher taking down a guy his size, running full speed because the OL opened a huge hole.

That's recruiting bro, we all know that especially you. Just have to trust the staff, they have done an AMAZING job so far and I don't expect anything less these next two weeks

Understand your mindset, but lets go ahead and get Bryant. And Folston. That way we all win....

Lol....sure buddy.

Sorry, but I want top guys. This "well I only want guys that wanna be here.." Crap has got to stop. It's BS. Everyone knows it.

We want big time players. If the Bama game didn't convince you of that, then I don't know what to tell you

Bummer, if true, which it definitely seems it is regarding Folston, and perhaps Bryant too if this rumored contact with other coaches is serious.

But for perspective though, consider this: we don't really need a running back in this class, and we are going after elite 2014 guys regardless. Even if we lost both Bryant and Folston, it wouldn't be as bad as losing Anzalone, a guy who played a position of genuine need, and we've all decided by now that we'll be fine there. I REALLY hope we hold on to both RBs, especially Bryant, but if we lose one of them it will be some comfort that we still have plenty of bodies at the position -- maybe none, other than Carlisle, with the ceiling of either Bryant or Folston, but solid athletes nevertheless.
