is the conventional wisdon here that as part of their charge by the university...that the firm ND hired, amongst other duties and fact finding, would have been trying to ascertain and uncover if Manti was in any way involved here and not a total and 100% victim?

or is it possible ND was more worried abotu the extortion, attempt to harm ND angles Jack discussed at his presser

One way or another, the truth will be fully exposed. No doubt about that.

I gotta leave it alone for now. I just deactivated my Facebook and changed my twitter name. Haters.

Manti is the one who told ND, after she came back from the dead.

Adding to Bogs story............It's not that hard to get duped online. My wife wanted to help buy Xmas presents for a ladies kids whose husband had died of cancer. She only had a part time job, had lost her home and two of the kids were special needs. The lady provided a pretty good story and some compelling evidence, but the bottom line was it was a scam.

I think that's safe to assume. ESPN is quoting an ND source as saying that Manti was thoroughly vetted and he is guilty of no wrongdoing

Lets just say that this comes out as a true hoax and Manti is a proven victim. How foolish (including myself) are people going to feel after the judgement, jokes, and sneering. I hope he is innocent but I am sad that he would be a victim at such an important time in his young life. It should have been a highlight of his life but has been turned into colossal anguish.

Yes sad to say but I am also having a hard time believing he was not in on this. With so many ways to see each other, Skype, ovoo, etc. The contradicting timeline of when they first met ..wow I'm just blown away by this. I am sure getting bashed by all these USC fans down here in L.A. Just hope Manti was not in on this..

I wouldn't even be all that surprised if Lane Kiffin was the person behind all of this anyways.

If Reagan Mauia is another target at least that would end the talk of "how could Manti be so naive", "you can't be in the NFL if you are that naive", etc.

People saying that it is unbelievable that Manti could fall in love with someone, having never met them and only interacted through the internet/phone, because he is a football star in college are not very smart.

1. He's Hawaiian in Indiana where there are very few Hawaiians and everything is different than his home.

2. He's Mormon at a Catholic school.

3. He's working his *** off day and night in school and football and probably doesn't have time for dates etc. Distance (or in this case fakeness) probably HELPS maintain a relationship.

4. His star status probably makes interacting with people difficult in some cases - you often see this with celebraties.

5. He is under an immense amount of pressure and scrutiny on a day to day basis - an outlet (someone to talk to) is probably welcome.

The list goes on and on. Who knows the truth of all of this but people who think this shouldn't/couldn't happen to a star football player are dead wrong.

Lets not forget the fact that people can make a mental "connection " in the uninhibited world of internet relationships.

This is just disgusting. Like "lose your faith in humanity" disgusting, whether Manti was involved or not.
