This is horrible as it helps USC.
What are the chances De'Anthony Thomas transfers to ND??

Exactly the same as my chances of inviting Kate Upton over for a threesome and have both her and my wife say yes. Actually I think my chances are better...![]()
Stanford, UCLA, UW and Arizona are all on the rise.
Actually, I think they are in the right here. When I think of the QB position, I think of three tiers. Tier A would be the Brady, Manning boys, Rogers, etc. Tier B would be Big Ben, Matt Ryan, Andrew Luck, etc. IMO there are between 10 and 15 QB's that you could argue belong in those top 2 tiers. After that, the remaining QB's are more of a liability than an asset. The only way to try and level the field is to have a RG3, R Wilson or Colin K type of player that evens the playing field. Watching DE's, OLB and saftey's being stuck like a deer in headlights against these types of players changed my mind completely. I think the offense can be successful, but you need a guy that can both run and pass. Looking at the crop of QB's coming out of college the last few years, I tihnk the chances of getting a Tier one or tier 2 QB is getting slimmer and the ability to draft a R wilson is growing. Why not have a coach that can scheme an offense that can flourish with out without that top QB talent?
Hell yes.
Geno is a pocket passer. They're only similar in that they're black.
Yeah, I don't disagree with any of that. I just don't think you have to hire someone that has (1) no experience with coaching NFL players from a personality standpoint, (2) no familiarity with the players and other coaches in the league from an X's and O's/scheme/tendency standpoint, and (3) no network in the NFL that would help him put together a competent staff that could help overcome some of those issues in order to compete in the "new NFL."
If you look at the other guys who have had success coming from college to the NFL recently, they have all had NFL experience - something neither Kelly has. And considering that, as pointed out by another poster above, NFL coaches like Belichick and Shanahan have been able to implement some of the "college" concepts into their schemes, I think you're a lot better off taking a coach that know the NFL and having him learn some of the new football stuff than taking a coach who knows some of the new football stuff and having him learn the NFL. All of theses guys are smart football guys. They can adapt their scheme, so scheme wouldn't be my biggest criteria in selecting a coach if it was my call. A head coach has some responsibility for the system his team runs, but I value those things I mentioned above more than the system a coach will bring with him. The best coaches' systems are always evolving and changing to match personnel anyways.
My prediction is that this is going to be a disaster. We'll see what happens, I guess.
Vick will get killed if you run too many design runs with him.
I agree with the defense comments. The defense was bad before and will be awful now.
Any Oregon committs ND would be interested in? I know Oregon doesn't recruit that well anways.
I'll tell you what; I'm glad Nick Foles is graduating. I catch myself watching him in awe sometimes...Nick is a hell of a football player. That kid's a warrior. He's as good as anyone in the country.

I think you really have to look at the person and not necessarily his NFL connections.
How many Belichick asistants have completely failed when they became head coaches? They have coached under the guru, learned his way of doing things, have connections throughout the NFL to build a staff, etc. And they fall flat on their face.
I have never been a fan of "the Oregon way" of running a program and all the glitz and glamour that goes with it, but I think CK is pretty bright guy. I would be completely surprised if he is not successful.
This is embarrassing.

Well my comment was (mostly) tongue in cheek. However if I was Tim Tebow I know what team I would be calling up right now.The Tebow comments are cracking me up.
Throw Tebow on a team running the spread with a college coach with no NFL experience.... yeah.... that should work. lol
