Evidently Thaddeus did not make his visit for the Pitt game. Supposedly was unable to get a ride.

Was scheduled to announce his committment tomorrow, but per elevenwarriors that has been canceled.

At first glance this might appear to be good news, but his twitter has the following comment:

The school keeps making me change the date come on Springfield high!

I think it's only a matter of time until he announces for pOSU

interesting note on Snodgrass in TV. apparently he doesn't have a committable offer from ND. according to Sapp, however, Notre Dame was going to get his commitment this weekend. his coach also said there is a lot more work to do in figuring out where he wants to go, so it might drag out for a while.

Sounds like we are being really picky in the 2014 class. With Justin Brent already committed, we won't take another receiver until we are absolutely sure he's the guy we really want.

Any insight on what happened to all the OSU rumors?

Yeah, Sapp said he wanted to commit to us this weekend. He also sounded as surprised as anyone, saying OSU was the "perceived leader."

What other wr's are we pursuing in this class? He is pretty talented. Hopefully we don't burn a bridge here.

So he was going to visit this past weekend and commit but we told him he can't commit so he chose not to visit at all?

I guess I can see that as a possible scenario. The whole "couldn't get a ride" to South Bend seemed a bit unbelievable. I assumed it was because he was all pOSU.

pOSU boards are saying Snodgrass was at practice yesterday.

Yes he did visit them yesterday. I don't know why he is in such a hurry to commit.

2 years ago I would have been yelling "WHAT THE ****!?!?!" about not accepting his commitment this early.

Now I'm like, "eh, whatever" because I know the coaching staff finally has lots of leverage with recruits and will get the best WRs available.

This blew me away more than most recently. He wanted to commit to us and we said not right now. We must be doing something right.

I didn't think so. I am as surprised by this as you guys are. I don't have any insight into his thought process as of this moment. I'll update if I come across anything.

Apologies for being late on this, but whoa. Early reviews of Snodgrass are very positive: 0.9333 composite score and 16th WR. And we turned him down! We must be doing something right, indeed.

Looking at the depth chart, Z WR isn't an area of need for us. I could see us taking a commit like Snodgrass later in the cycle if he's the best-available WR, but I'd bet the staff is holding out for better size and strength from an X/W WR prospect.

Could us turning him down say anything about how we feel with Folston and Treadwell?

Even without Treadwell we're going to be pretty deep at receiver in general moving forward. Combine that with having Brent in the fold and a small class it puts us in a holding pattern. I don't believe that Kelly is thinking to himself if we don't get Treadwell we'll accept Snodgrass. Its more of wanting to continue to evaluate other talent at the WR pos. in 2014.

Not so sure about that. ND and OSU weren't willing to accept his committment so it wouldn't shock me if he has moved others ahead.
