While I personally think we will run the table, if the ESPN article turned out to be true - I would think Wake Forest would be the one to do it... Will be interesting to see how they play after knocking off FSU.

Wake Forest might be that season-spoiling game that sneaks up sticks a dagger right in our back (2010 Navy, 2009 Navy, 2008 Syracuse). I really, really hope it isn't.

'08 Syracuse wasn't the game that stuck the dagger. in. it really just kinda pushed down on it harder and twisted it around a little

2010 Navy was horrible but after our bye week we took the dagger out, patched up the wound and came back stronger than ever.

I think we finish 10-3 with a win in the Champs Sports Bowl

I just can't see us winning the table. I know we are more than capable but I expect us to slip up one more time, whether that's at Stanford or before. If we are 9-2 heading into Stanford, watch out. That will be a hell of a matchup.

That being said, if we run the table from here out I think we definitely deserve a shot at the BCS, obviously depending on how things ahead of us shake out

BK is driving home the point of staying hungry and focusing on the opponent each week. He has them feeling and playing like they are in the playoffs.. There is no way Wake sneaks up on us.

The days of opposing coaches giving the "How many of you got an offer from ND in this locker room?" speech and having their team come out and emotionally win are over.

If anything, we will be sneaking up on these teams with a new Notre Dame.

A Notre Dame that still out matches you physically and talent wise but now uses that to its advantage for 4 full quarters.

A Notre Dame that has their 4 and 5 star talent in better physical and mental condition causing them not to under-achieve and give-up.

We stumbled out of the gate but have made significant strides since then and that's what you look for in a good team.

We head into Stanford 9-2.. I cannot sit here and say we will dominate Stanford but we WILL put together a better effort than last year.

I say 9-3 with a loss to Stanford. Then a win in the Champ Sports Bowl over Virginia Tech for our 10th win to close out the season.

We will find out what Wake is made of this weekend when they play VT - granted Wake is at home, but if they beat VT by more than a touchdown... That will be a serious test. The only plus is that Wake has to play Clemson the following week and that game will probably decide who is going to the ACC championship from the Atlantic division - so they may keep something in reserve for that game...

Agreed. This is still a Wake team that is coming off 1 nice win over a team that was clearly very overrated at the start of the year. Looking that the rest of their season, they've had close wins against NC State and BC, and meaningless drubbing of a Div-IAA school, and a loss to Syracuse.

USC is still the toughest matchup on the schedule between here & Stanford to me. If Wake beats Va Tech, I may think otherwise.

Also of note: If Wake wins their next 3 games heading into ND, then they'll be playing ND ahead of a potential division-deciding matchup w/ Clemson a week later. Could this set up a scenario where ND is actually a trap game for the first time...well, ever that I can remember?
