I'm not sure. Sometimes I'm in line and it comes to my turn, and I'm still wondering Chocolate/Vanilla/or Strawberry milkshake. If I have a hard time with milkshakes why should I give a kid a hard time about choosing a college.

hahaha That's great.

Love the player much like Aaron lynch. Don't know how he fits in with the team from a relationship perspective. Not that he's not a great kid but he doesn't seem to be on board with what this class is about. This class is about commitment to ND and I love it.

Been thinking the same thing. But I also think that it's good to have strong personalities as well. If an ego gets out of control these guys would reel him in. But I hear ya!

I don't think you can worry too much about the waffling anymore because its fairly common for these kids to feel like they are being pulled from all angles. I would love to land Robinson, as I think he would be the missing piece to this Mecca class Kelly is assembling! Vanderdoes would be nice too!;)

I think the missing piece to ND's class is a DLmen. I dont know too much about ND's depth chart but I always want a decent amount of DLmen in a class. Vanderdoes would be perfect

I can't really argue with that. The D is what got us here. I think we need a big time WR that can stretch the field on the outside and Robinson would be perfect. Although Daniels, Jones, and Brown have the potential to be just that.

Only two needs left: an elite, big-bodied, playmaking WR (i.e. a Floyd body type instead of a T.J. body type) and a true DL who can play 1 to 5 tech. That's D. Robinson and Vanderdoes. Get those two missing pieces and this class is pretty much perfect.

I'm fine with Robinson not coming here.

In last year's class, we have Ferguson, Neal, Brown.

In 2013, we have Corey R., James O., Tori Jr., and W. Fuller (all of which have rave reviews).

Robinson is 6'4", Tori is listed as 6'2", James is 6'2", and Fuller is 6'1". Size isn't a problem, imo.

That's 7 WRs in two years. I'd rather save the scholarship for 2014 or a DL this year.

Corey is also 6-5 and could easily be 6-6 by the time fall rolls around.

Corey has lots of potential but is very raw. D. Rob is an elite prospect. I still think we want D. Rob or a receiver of his body type and talent level to hedge against something weird going on in C. Rob's development. I mean, based on his dad's growth pattern, Corey could easily outgrow WR and become a TE. The other guys like Hunter and Onwualu and Fuller are more T.J. than Floyd. Not quite the body type I'm talking about.

Is he bigger than his listed 6'2"? Because that's not really bigger than any of our other recievers.

IMO, there's too much emphasis placed on "size" for the outside WRs. It's great to have a big body on the outside, but not the end of all things. I still think Davonte Neal could end up as an outside, number 1 WR in BKs offense.

Would it be nice to have a 6'6'' guaranteed stud on the outside? Duh. But guys with the athleticism of Fuller, Neal, etc can be studs in their own right on the outside for reasons other than size.

And I wouldn't make this argument if it weren't for the number of "hybrids" being recruited/on the roster. Neal, Hunter, Folston, Onwualu and Fuller all project as slot/hybrid guys obviously. However, they wouldn't be in the mix if BK didn't think some of them could be studs on the outside, even without the size.

Also, I'm making this argument because I'm still hoping D. Neal turns into Mardy Gilyard, which I predicted in my first post on IE. I'm holding on, darnit.

i know jury still out on guys we have, and those are getting....but....ive been feeling same way for some time.

how does the 2014 class as far as this type of WR...the 2013 class overall was weak on WR's per the pundits.

I agree with much of this, but I don't think the bolded is "obvious." Hunter has the elusiveness to play slot, but high-pointing the ball is also a strength for him. I might prefer him on the outside. Fuller showed great leaping ability in his tape ... I definitely prefer him on the outside. Onwualu could play outside receiver too, although I prefer him at slot. Neal and Folston I think are pretty clear slot guys.

No question that not every outside receiver needs to be built like Floyd ... there's obviously a role for guys who are smaller and slighter but very athletic. But my concern is that right now no one in the 2013 class has that big, physical boundary-receiver build except C. Robinson, and while I think he is an exciting prospect I still think he is something of a project. I still really want a guy in this class (i.e. in 2013 ... I'm not forgetting about Justin Ferguson in the 2012 class) with the build and skills of Treadwell or D. Rob. Not the end of the world if we don't get one, but it would really round out the class offensively.

While I agree in part that we have lacked a game changing WR since Floyd left, we do have several with very high upside. I'd also add that our WRs have been limited in some aspects, not by themselves, but by our young QB and BK's game planning.

D. Daniels - I don't think he's close to his ceiling. I expect a lot more production in 2013 simply because Golson can now concentrate on WR chemistry.
C. Brown - If he can develop his body over the off season, he will be a stone cold stud.
D. Neal - assuming everyone is talking about X/W, we can't overlook this guys potential in the passing game at Z. Neal and Brown will be able to tear up the field from both a vert and horiz perspecitive.

Others with very high potenial
C. Robinson - 1400 yards, 20+ yard average, and 20 TD in 2012 is pretty good for someone tagged as RAW. Could be the next big thing.
J. Ferguson - Pretty darn physical already.
T. Hunter - 1200 yard, 17+ yard average, and 14 TD in 2012... Like Corey, he has the genetics. If not for the injury, I thought he was in position to contribute as Neal's backup.

None of the guys are elite yet, but chances are, at least one, maybe 2 or 3 will blosson. D. Robinson, although a very high upside and well rounded, doesn't wow me anymore than a few of the names above.

I expect the TE position to play a smaller role in the passing game next year, thus placing more emphasis on the receivers.

not if we wanna continue running the ball well...plus i think we still have two pretty good TE's on the roster with niklas and koyack

Then, that's bad news in my opinion. Why limit the playbook. This offense runs best when anything is possible. Never limit what has been your best option with the exception of Floyd and Smardzija in recent history.

We are TE U... Keep the pipeline going

Hercules will have a break out year in 2013.

In short, I think BK will open up the playbook more and more as the year goes on. Golson, assuming he now has the art AND science, will gain chemistry with the WRs, and pick a few go-tos.

If we don't take a major step forward in the passing game in 2013, we'll see GK early IMO. I think Golson gets it done. The game will slow down for him, and we'll have lightning in a bottle. GK will get a lot of clean up duty early, and some situational duty later in the year.

According to the commitment status in the title, is he not considering ND (again again?).

We'll see more passing next year as a natural progression of Golson.

I don't think it is a depth issue. The staff is trying to find a pure #1 wr that forces a defense to roll the safety. Once we get that we really pound the hell out of them with the run game.

I think they changed it to avoid confusing people. I know at least one person noted that he saw "Notre" in the thread title only to be disappointed.

Correct. It is down to Clemson and Florida again. Again again again.

I might just change it one more time (Flip A Coin)
