I'm probably just being paranoid here, but I just kind of feel like the writing is on the wall and maybe this isn't as much of a slam dunk as we all think.

I get why you think that, but Sapp has been extremely clear that we should not interpret this uncertainty about when he visits as a lack of interest or lessening of interest. In Tunnel Vision on Monday he basically said that AQM will definitely commit to us at the AA game, regardless of whether he has visited by then or not.

He's not explaining why he is so sure, but it's clear that he knows something we don't. I'm really not worried any more.

Like others have said, Sapp feels very comfortable that whether he visits or not he'll commit to ND at the AA game. Basically he knows enough about ND to want to be here without visiting. 75% of me with defer judgement to Sapp because he is very well connected to these recruits but 25% of me knows its recruiting and anything can happen. So I would feel a lot more comfortable if he visited before the game.

U beat me to it.

This is a good point though. Sapp may know that as things stand right now AQM is planning to go to ND, but he can't tell the future. In recruiting, everything is subject to change.

I get what everyone is saying about Sapp, and more than likely he is correct. I just can't conceive being so sure about a decision as to which school to pick without having been there. I dunno, seems like it's just me. Like I said, I'm prolly just being paranoid.

I was 100% sold on ND without ever visiting and ND isn't even paying my way and I don't get to play for the #1 team in the country. Why is it hard to imagine that ND is his dream school and everyone else is a backup plan

Because I'm apparently much more left- brained than you are; and as much as I know I love ND, I would still need to see what I'm getting into with my own two eyes.

Fair but as you admit some people are different. All I'm saying is don't stress too much about this one. From Ironman to Sapp the word is that he is Irish.

I use my whole brain so I'm smarter than you (italics)

NO no no...you are perfectly right to feel paranoid...we are all out to get you and have no problem being honest and up front about it...have a nice day and try to sleep well (but maybe with one eye open from now on...)

Not visiting this weekend

In which case it's pretty hard to figure he's visiting at any time before the AA Bowl, what with Christmas break and all. I get how this happens, but I'd feel a lot more comfortable if we at least had Diaco on his doorstep or something.

IIRC from another thread post earlier today, i believe a dead period starts in a few days and runs until early January, so i think coaches' contact will be restricted by that if they don't contact him very soon. I still get the feeling he is going to go nowhere else but ND.

If he's this sure about ND now, imagine what his reaction will be when he gets on campus. Pretty much everyone enjoys the visit and is in awe of the campus despite their level of interest, let alone someone already sold on us.

I'm not worried either but this has become a very unconventional recruitment and nothing will surprise me.

Which ND site if you don't mind me asking? I mean there are a lot of red flags out there but there were a lot of VERY confident people who also have not changed their tune... so I'll stick with him being a bonafide lock until I hear otherwise. Kinda backwards logic but I think if he was actually torn he would've made more of an effort to visit ND over the past two weeks.

I always thought this one was a bit strange. I got on the lock bandwagon, but stepping off right now. Would really love to see an "all is well" right about now.

He might be suggesting DomerDomain. Last night some guy posted that AQM said he was "70-30 for Miami." Another poster soon afterwards said that he was thinking of the wrong person. The first poster then admitted his mistake, but brought up how AQM called his visit to Miami a 10.

One of the more respected posters (IrishCalves) on that site said he also feels the recruitment has become a little less clear cut and that he is worried because we are pursuing Hollins more actively now (as a possible replacement).

I trust Sapp a lot more than some guy on Domer Domain. I'm not really worried about Miami but if that is where he wants to go, then by all means he should go there

Exactly. Anyone that picks The U over ND deserves what they get.

Al Golden is a good coach but the Miami program and infastructure is just a mess right now.

Why would want to deal with that mess? Especially when we don't even know what sanctions and punishments may be coming.

This is all 100% speculation. From what I have heard the past month or two he is going to Notre Dame. Until I hear otherwise from a credible source (TP, Sapp, or Wiltfong), I think he is Irish all the way

Hasn't been able to take an OV to ND yet because he hasn't gotten the proper paperwork on file at ND. Sapp and Wiltfong are still uber-confident that he will be Irish.
