Its 12. If you look at ESPN it says no stats available for the Boston College game which Tuitt had a sack and 2 tfl

Yeah once I saw it on und.com, I was apparent. hah

So with 12 through 11 games, if he just stays on his average then he'll have the record. That's pretty neat.

Of course, I hope he gets two (or more) on Wittek and breaks the record through 12 games just as Tuck had.

Sophomore DE Stephon Tuitt has already collected 12.0 sacks in 2012. He ranks first in the FBS in sack yardage (89), tied for third in total sacks (12.0), tied for fourth in sacks/game (1.09) and tied for fourth in solo sacks (10).

Among FBS underclassmen, Tuitt leads the nation in total sacks (12.0), sack yardage (94), solo sacks (10) and sacks/game (1.09). He has already registered at least two sacks in three separate games (Navy, Purdue and BYU).

Only two underclassmen over the last eight seasons have averaged more sacks per game than Tuitt in 2012.

Tuitt was added to the midseason watch list for the Bednarik and Hendricks Awards. The Bednarik is presented annually to the top defensive player in college football, while the Hendricks is awarded to the nation's top defensive end.

Tuitt has more than doubled Aaron Lynch's total of five and a half sacks, which led Notre Dame in 2011. Tuitt is on pace for 13.0 in the regular season and 14.0 when including a bowl game.

Lynch is his last name. So it's just Aaron Lynch.

He wanted to be with his girlfriend. Talented kid but we're obviously fine without him.
