The crazy thing is.... would anyone really be surprised if Barkley ran out and started?

I have my tickets and we are headed to SC for the game...anyone have any recommendations on what to/not to do, see, or experience at USC on game-days?

Just got word the soon to be in-laws are staying with us Saturday night. Grrrrrrrrr......

Hope they don't mind seeing me crush cans all day and (hopefully) hearing "Miami" on an endless loop from 11 pm to 6am (thanks for the idea 2014).

There sadly is no gameday experience. Just go to a good tailgate then walkover to the game. Or maybe stop by College Gameday I guess if you're there early enough.

At night, be safe.

I can't sleep more than 4 or 5 hours, I can't concentrate on much of anything because my mind keeps wondering back to this game and us being #1. Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and we have family coming over, I haven't got anything ready yet or even thought about it. I hope my wife has me covered. COME ON SATURDAY! LETS GO IRISH!

That promo spot on ESPN with Brent Musburger freezes me when I hear it.
You hear them say "The Irish are #1!", "The stakes could not be any higher!" FML I'm gonna have a heart attack! :)

Is it just me or as the week has anybody gotten progressively more worried about this game. I have faith that we will win, but then again it is the biggest Rivalry game in College Football history. I might have a heart attack by Saturday night, and once Wittek guaranteed a win for SCum my heart sunk a little and I they are very confident. I don't know about any of you but I AM WORRIED.

Actually I'm headed the other direction. I started out Sunday, Monday, Tuesday as nervous, butterflies going. Today the gameface is starting and I'm feeling differently. These kids aren't going to get punk'd by USC this year. I believe the mission will continue Saturday night and they'll take care of business.

The last thing I'm worried about right now is us coming out flat. I'm fully confident BK will have them more pumped for this game than they've been for any so far this season. This team has a chance to do something that hasn't been done in well over two decades, and I don't think they'll take that opportunity lightly.

I really hope Kelly's pregame speech is put in the ICON viceo monday.

These are the types of games we want to play! I thought we would be a good team this year, never expected 11-0 but we are and I'm damn proud of these guys.

Look, USC is loaded with talent. Maybe they aren't the best coached team but I fully expect them to come out and be the team they are capable of being. They are going to score, they are going to make some big plays. We are going to take some punches.

It boils down to two things to me. First, our offense has to score, maybe 30+ points. The offense has improved throughout the year and that needs to continue. Secondly, we need to cause a couple of turnovers to stem their momentum. One turnover for every big play they make.

It's going to be a slugfest against a very, very talented team. They will get the ball in the hands of their play makers and let them make plays. Golson has to make plays also which he can do.

I love it because we get to see how we compare. Would we want it any other way? I wouldn't.

LOL. Tell me about it. I am in the last two weeks of school I have Geotechnical Design project due, Wastewater Design Project due, and four finals to study for. I did not realize it initially, but on one my wastewater AutoCad drawings (for a tank that handles sewage) , I found a text box that said "Kiffin flows here" when I meant to say "sewage flows here".....

I have to go back and check all my drawings now..

If UCLA & Stanford can do it, the Irish definitely can beat USC. ND isn't #1 for nothing.

Completely agree. If some of you have a few minutes, I encourage you to listen to this clip of Kurt Warner from the SVP Show yesterday. They get to talking about backup QBs and hearing it from Warner makes me feel a bit at ease about this kid.

Kurt Warner - ESPN

It starts about the 3:15 mark and ends about the 4:30ish mark.

I mentioned that in a previous post. He'll get reps this week, but it's no substitution for game experience.

They outhit us last year. Tuitt was pushed around by their right guard and tackle. Their 5th yr Sr. Ellison pounded our linebackers as a fullback and pushed around our OLB's as a TE. Their 5th yr Sr. Kalil caved in KLM at times and got outside and sealed the inside on sweeps. Their center handled Nix. Their entire line is back except Kalil, but they miss him and Ellison who was a very versatile blocker at FB and TE.

Defensively, they had tons of Sr and 5th year experienced depth in their front 7 that is now gone: Nick Perry, Devon Kennard, Christian Tupou and Chris Galippo were critical to their defensive rotation. They don't have the experienced depth they had last year.

Tuiit is a much better player now as is Nix and KLM. All three are stronger and faster then last year.

I already sold mine for a season where we're the only undefeated team, who's played in 4 time zones and had every game nationally televised, had a Heisman Trophy candidate (on defense!), and had the highest graduation rate in all of FBS.

You can thank me later.

Some good balls thrown for the most part, they looked like they were more high then anything.

Here's what that coach is really saying to him.

"Max I don't want to worry you, but this was already going to be a tough game without you repdicting a win. Notre Dame is already pissed about what Matt said last year, then you had to go and do this. This Irishs defense is a bunch of animals. Tuiit is probably going to be breathing down your neck the entire game and you better watch out for #5. He has a history of coming straight down the pike and leveling QB's. If you're not nervous, you better be. BTW.....Relax and have fun Saturday."

I agree. The question is, how have their guys developed? Tuitt and Nix will be facing the same guys. KLM will be facing a freshman tackle.

Also, as i think Whiskey pointed out yesterday, KLM got hurt in the USC game last year, and Aaron Lynch was totally ineffective against the run as his replacement. Just another reason why things are different this year, if we stay healthy.
