Some funny twitter reaction:

RT: ""Golden Tate is officially the first player in NFL history to commit pass interference, not catch the ball and score a touchdown.""

RT:"Golden Tate is such a beast - drills someone in the back, doesn't catch the ball, wins the game."

Brilliant stuff here.

I'm going on record, as a Bears fan, Green Bay lost that game because of blatant bad call.

But it wasn't the one in the last seconds. It was the roughing the passer on Russell and the defensive PI that gave them a first down on that last drive.

Well, unless Tate has an outstanding career, this catch is all he'll be remembered for.

Another thing I found interesting while running on the treadmill and watching ESPN was that three of the top10 plays of the week were ND grads (Catches by Floyd, Fasano and Rudolph). Furthermore, the biggest NFL story of the week (possibly so far this season) involves Golden Tate.

The officiating has been horrendous for all teams. At least this benefit one of our guys!

Rudolph 2 TD's
Tate 2 TD's
Floyd first career TD catch!

Great weekend for ND!!!!

You guys probably already said all that as I glanced up the thread. Sorry I'm still waking up. Either way hell of a weekend for us!

As for Tate being more "classy." What did you want him say? "I didnt catch it, give us the loss."

Yes. I would. The game results can't be changed. IMHO I wouldn't want to be known for something like this the rest of my life. I'd rather be known for telling the truth and setting things straight. Like Tom Kite when he called a penalty on himself. I think if he did come clean, it would help expedite the resolution of this ref situation. Its bad enough they already have him on film making that punk comment "I don't know what you're talkin about" and he has to be associated with that *** clown of a so called coach.

I don't know, I guess it all depends on how you want to be remembered. To each, their own.

The "IDK" comment was in relation to the pass interference, not the catch. Not sure how you blame a player for the ref missing a call.

While we are reversing history, lets take away Strahan's sack record since Favre gave the last one to him.

I know what the "IDK" comment was about and he sounded like a punk saying it. I didn't blame anyone.

I do prefer history with integrity.

I feel like I should change my sig to something more recent.
Anyone know what Tate has been up to lately?

Having a rough night. Couple drops and a terrible effort blocking for a quick screen.

One doesn't go to the refs. It goes to Tate who went up and took it away, just like he does over and over. He did it at Notre Dame, and he has done if for the Hawks.

The Packers DB wasn't as tough as Tate!

It was the refs, don't be silly.
