Another thing I noticed from this game last year was I feel like it was nearly 9 times out of 10, we were starting drives within our 10 yard line. This was such a field position game last year and it killed any momentum we would have. This isn't going to happen this year. I expect something like 42-3

Were they transporting something dirty? What was so muddy that they need to clean their pallet? Are they planning on using said pallet again? Otherwise, this seems like a silly exercise.

No Kuechly --- cannot quantify the difference that makes --- best college player I've seen in a decade. Had he and Manti been playing side-by-side at MIKE and WILL [which was apparently quite possible if we had liked him in high school] the only running associated with our Defense would have been them making peanutbutter sandwiches out of the soon-to-be hospitalized opponent RBs. Might have been the only defense ever to give up negative rushing yards for the season.

BC can talk about this being a huge rivalry and about how they played well in the past and blah, blah, blah. This is a different Irish team. They had a huge slap-in-the-face wake up call last week and they are going to try to make a statement. BC won't be able to move the ball on the ground and Rettig will take some punishment as the night progresses as he tries to force more passes. On the other side of the ball, the Irish will pound the run all night long. Can't wait for this game, but I don't think the outcome will be in doubt for very long. Irish: 47 BC: 7

I think BC gets a touchdown late against the subs to avoid the shutout.

Don't give a damn what BC's record is this year. Don't give a damn who they have or haven't beaten. Don't give a damn what their offense or defense is ranked...this team loves to play us, and every 10 years they spoil one of our good seasons. I want to hang 50+ on them and hold them to 0, I'll be satisfied at least if theres a few minutes left in the 4th and we're up by at least 4 scores.

I'll honestly be surprised if BC scores a TD... though it's possible with some breaks they could get to around 17 points or so... maybe 20. That's the worst case scenario.

If we simply run the ball down their throats they shouldn't be able to stop us. Period. Their run D is awful. I'm expecting a repeat of Miami in terms of score and how the second half goes... something on the order of 45-3.

Lax, don't you think if the score 20 its a close game?

Do not be surprised if this is slightly less a romp than some expect. If we were just going by stats, ND would win by about 40-10. But BC plays a little better at home and surely will be excited to play us. They could score 14; we might score 30. If so, depending on when those scores occur, we could still have a bunch of ledge walkers on IE at halftime. We'll win this game, but we are a real "grinder" of a football team. Maybe that fact, better an ugly winner than a beautiful loser, will make this season even more legendary.

People like lunchbucket teams --- I like us, too.
