He was visiting with a couple OL committed to mizzou class of 2013.

Both Bauer's and Elliott's recruitments are long from over

He was visiting with a kid I go to school with who is committed to mizzou class of 2013 who dislikes ND.

Both Bauer's and Elliott's recruitments are long from over

Obviously this one is a long way from over chronologically, but also mentally. DeSmet always has a lot of kids apply to ND. All the big Catholic schools in STL do.

If he doesn't flip, I wish him the best. But a Mizzou education is OK and Gary Pinkel has had his own issues in the past. DUI a few months ago and he had a player die in practice (not that it was directly his fault, but it still looks bad).

He'll be hard to flip, IMO, from Mizzou because the state thinks the world of that abysmal program.

I can accept the DUI criticism (although we all make mistakes), but the "but it still looks bad" seems to me like you are copping out of blame while still trying to get a jab in at him. That's pretty classless, if indeed true, and hypocritical considering Kelly had the Sullivan tragedy on him forever, and Kelly is more than 0% responsible for that.

If you consider Missouri to be abysmal, what do you consider Notre Dame? Missouri has gone to three Big 12 championship games in the last five years. They have won 8+ games in each of the last six seasons, with three 10+ win seasons in that time frame. They've been to seven straight bowl games, winning four of them.

I mean it's an absolute fact that Andy Bauer would go to Notre Dame if he is doing what is best for his future....but I'm not sure I get why we have to tear every other program down so senselessly. Gary Pinkel was almost the Ohio State coach in 2001, and is 158-91 in his career despite building programs. The man can coach. We should give credit where credit it due.

I have a feeling the whole u can go to every home game really influenced his parents because I saw his parents, or at least his mom, didn't go on the visit originally but then decided to come up

He was there with 2 OL commits for 2013, one from SLU High School

1) Pinkel has a personal driver written into his contract.
2) Let's not rehash the Sullivan tragedy. However, I'm not blaming him. I'm just saying he's had his share of bad things happen. Easy there, trigger. Not pointing fingers........or being classless.
3) I was going to explain that I lived 25 miles south of Mizzou for 18 years. I'm quite familiar with the program and Pinkel. I defer to you on Ohio St. matters because you're close to the program. Half my high school class goes to Mizzou. I follow their sports quite closely and did nothing more than state an opinion.......

The 247's 2014 rankings are worthless at this time. The kids have just been through half of their high school yet, and I think under 25% of these recruits will actually have the body and the skill that makes the elite athletes elite. I am guessing that under 50% of the top 247 players will remain on the list come signing day 2014.

Surprised ND hasn't offered Braden Smith yet. Understand the Catholic connection here, but Smith is a few hours away and clearly the better prospect imo.

“@rivalsmike: Interesting e-mail from the father of 2014 OL Andy Bauer about his situation changing soon. Trying to find out more #Mizzou commit”

Schools still pursuing and has added offers from Florida State, Oklahoma State, Nebraska, and Illinois

Wiltfong also received news from his Dad saying things could change

Wiltfong said it is only a matter of time before he opens things back up.

Per 247: Still committed to Mizzou but will look around, ND mentioned as a school he will look at with Bama & LSU as the two that have particularly peaked his interest

I seriously think one of our first commits next year. Smart, connections, top player, catholic in a very catholic city at a catholic school

From a while ago. Let's hope this rings true... except for the one of the first part.

One has to think Mizzou's season has to be the contributing factor here.

Any new info SLUH?

Thanks for the info GITF. Not worried about this kid at all. Think we have a great shot with some very good Olineman and we don't need to take that many in the 2014 class.
