The Human Polls are 2/3rds of the BCS standings. The computers are the other 1/3.
The BCS games are decided on a rotating basis between the Rose, Orange, Fiesta and Sugar bowls. Conference Tie-ins are first as follows:
Sugar: SEC vs AtLarge
Rose: Big10 vs Pac10
Orange: ACC vs AtLarge
Fiesta: Big12 vs AtLarge
If it happens to be what we all think is going to happen, Oregon vs Alabama, then the Sugar would select first, then the Rose. Traditionally they would select the next best SEC or BIG10/PAC10 team based on BCS eligibility. So assuming the above scenario the order of selection this year is:
NCG
Sugar (Via Bama)
Rose (Via Oregon)
Fiesta
Sugar
Orange
I have a hard time believing that ND would fall to the Fiesta in 3rd if Oregon and Bama make it. They are a money machine, and thats all that the BCS is outside of the NCG.
PS: No BCS busters this year. Since Boise lost they will no longer be the team ranked ahead of the Big10 and get an auto at large bid.
