...and THATS why I detest Michigan with ever fiber in my soul, only second to USC by a slim margin. Seriously, like the Buckeyes or not, but they found a way to beat Miami in 2002 and played tough defense to get to that game. Winning is all that matters, and this team is winning. **** the Wolverines. Saying that this Irish team isn't that good...after you guys had to pull last minute wins out of your arse the previous 3 years and went to a BCS game last year. Pot calling the kettle black, it's just our turn to be in the driver seat.
That guy makes it sound so easy to play the way we are right now, or how OSU did in 2002. I wonder why Michigan hasn't had a team play like that and win a consensus national title since 1948.

Big fan of the "If we didn't turn the ball over 6 times we would have beat them."

Same argument as "If we scored more points, we would have won."

Um yeah, you probably would have, but those turnovers happened and were a part of the game.

Hopefully treadwell takes notice

Yeah seriously.

I've said it before, and I believe IrishLax has, but Hoke is going to have to completely rebuild the program after this season and it would be Weis-esque.

Notre Dame 2007 = Michigan 2013

The question is, for 2014/2015/etc, can the Wolverines play defense at a higher level than Weis' teams could? I think Mattison can make that happen.

Would you want to b a wide receiver stuck with having to live through 2007/2008-like seasons if you can play elsewhere and win? Early playing time is moot if you're getting pummeled.

Everything is right in the world football-wise. The Irish are rolling, and Michigan is falling apart at the seems. Gotta love seeing them cry and make excuses.

Eh. Ohio State is 9-0. If and when Wisconsin stomps them, then it's on.

So now that Michigan has had their third game where they didn't get across the goal line can I come back for one last I told ya so? Mmmm hmmm

Nope. We said all along ND would win and that it would be a very close game, so you didn't get any of us there. And Denard beat ND twice to the point that he had 2 INCREDIBLE comebacks AND broke records against us, and you said that he didn't hold the upper-hand to ND before our game this year, which is as ridiculous of a comment that I've ever read on this site, trolls included. So, no, you can't say I told you so...not with those 2 arguments anyways. If you had other arguments, and if it makes you feel better, then sure, tell us all "I told you so" a million times.

I'm just happy ND is still winning...

Meanwhile in the Winningest Percentage battle ND has picked up 3 games so far this season and can reclaim the #1 position without running the table.

This is huge for me personally. I physically become ill everytime a scUM fan brings up the fact that they have the highest winning percentage in college football. The fact that they claim it isn't what sickens me. It's that they are completely oblivoious to the fact that ND had this title for decades before them until Willinghams unfortunate run lost it. They act like they have been the winningest team in the entire 140 some years of college football. Makes me sick!

We need to take back the winning percentage title. The pressure is on scUM... Its theirs to lose and ours to rightfully take back...

GO IRISH!!!

I have a lot of scUM fans as friends and family...one of the funniest things I saw posted on twitter sat was the comment, "any Michigan fan who said they were ready for Denard to be done as qb at Michigan can burn." I tried telling anyone who would listen (and nobody would) after last years debacle, ND was in a better place in whole as a program and that Denard was just saving their a$$es and covering up glaring weaknesses. Very apparent after watching the circus that bellomy conducted sat night!! Many will say Shane Morris is the answer, I have a feeling not so much...

I'm glad they pulled off the win against a ranked team today. Every little bit helps with the computers.

I was just thinking Michigan's offense could potentially (who knows with college football) be pretty mediocre next year. Here's a mini-breakdown:

QB - Looks like Gardner will be Robinson's successor. He's played pretty well these last two weeks and he'll probably be relied upon to make most of the plays in their offense.

RB - No back has proven that he can be "the guy".

WR/TE - No real threats other than Devin Funchess, who is really good.

OL - If Taylor Lewan declares, they could have four, count 'em, four new OL. Yikes.

Sounds like what possibly could happen to our OL next season if Martin and Watt go...Yikes

Speaking of Michigan's future, it brings up to my mind a general thought in which I think that I differ from consensus IE thinking.

I'm very Machiavellian about Notre Dame football's future success. We have a great coach and a forward looking set of systems and philosophy. All we need are the athletic studs to be trained up to execute the winning ideas. My observation about end-of-season rankings and bowls is, if you already have a name program [we, of course do], then shades of evaluating strength of schedule essentially goes in the trash bin if you just win your games. Consistent winning of your games several years in a row, with a few powers on the schedule, is enough to get you into the BCS everytime, and, if you're Notre Dame [not Boise State] into the NC game when things break right.

The bottom line of this reasoning is, I root against our major RECRUITING opponents almost every game they play. For instance, I DIDN'T want Michigan to luck out again and beat Northwestern last week. The more losses they get, the more recruits we beat them out for. Same with other scheduled opponents like Stanford, USC, Miami, but also non-scheduled recruiting opponents like Bama, FSU, FL, OSU, PSU, Texas, etc. When those teams go down, we go up in recruiting potential.

So, I hope that all teams of that nature have 6-6 years, not because of the current year but because I am greedy for the young supermen to come here rather than there. Current seasons take care of themselves on the field.

Plus, on Michigan in particular, I have an irrational pleasure about passing them up for leading winning percentage of all time[ which we've either just done or are about to if they lose another couple].

@stephenjnesbitt Michigan football will be featured on 60 Minutes Sunday. UM AD, Brady Hoke & Denard were interviewed.

ME TOO.

Can anyone find updated statistics on this? My google skills are weak, and I can't figure out how some of these guys are getting their numbers...
