Man pencil in Oklahoma to the NCG. They seem to be the greatest team on earth this year. Maybe they can move to LA and become the new NFL team there?

Four. They lost to KSU this season.

Has any other head football coach ever coached in a stadium named after himself other than Snyder?

Bryant-Denny Stadium is one off the top of my head.

Jordan-Hare Stadium at Auburn is the only other one. Shug Jordan coached in it.

Jesus, OU has four home losses in Bob Stoops' tenure? That is shocking.

It is. But it's also helped by the fact that they never play Texas there.

Man, I know we've been conditioned to lose big games over the last 20 years, but some of you guys have no hope.

Sure. Oklahoma is a good team. But theyve got flaws. ND has a tough, talented, and hungry team this year. Have some faith.

Yeah, that's a good point. But FWIW, we typically schedule pretty solid OOC opponents.

See: Notre Dame 2012

Matthew Allen, Oklahoma City: “As a younger OU fan, my dislike for Notre Dame stems from the following: They're killing us in the series; they bookend The Streak; they are the benefactors of some of the most unfair, antitrust violating, undeserved, borderline cheating treatment out of any program ever. Their SPECIAL BCS rules are the biggest scam happening in college football right now, and people act like it's just A-OK. Like it's a part of the landscape. Why do they get better rules than everyone else? Why don't people talk about this more?”

The BCS itself is a scam. BCS system leaves long trail of wounded victims - College Football - ESPN

If you really want to get upset about stuff the BCS does look at all of the stuff in that article. MSU got jacked two years in a row and you're worried about ND's special treatment? When was the last time we even took advantage of that special treatment? The BCS is going away anyways, time to worry about the BIG12 giving Texas special treatment rather than hating on ND over things you know nothing about.

Your validation point is a game you haven't played yet?

Why do all these sooners think we want their prediction on the game?

I personally like to converse with rational and reasonable opposing fans in the week leading up to a game. I love having their perspective of the game, and learning more about the opposition. He has been nothing but that so far, so let's treat that way.

No, my point is that, although we never play in Austin, OU doesn't schedule only crappy FCS teams in our non-conference and that helps to even it out.

Recently, we've played: Notre Dame (this week), Florida State, Miami, Washington (they weren't quite so sorry when it was scheduled), etc etc.

And I don't know about your board; I'm obviously new. That being said - lots of people put predictions on the board and don't mean anything negative by it.

No, his validation point is that as a whole, OU normally schedules one of the stronger non-conference schedules in the country. Home and home series with the Irish, LSU, Tennessee, and Ohio State in the upcoming years being examples.

yes they do, Snyder has to be one of the greatest coaches ever

He's absolutely fantastic. He gets second hand guys and makes gold. Always tough and sound football. I wonder how good he would be if he had better recruits. I also wonder how he would have fared in a more pressured environment.
Kelly has done gold in the past with third hand recruits when he wasn't under the national spotlight every second of everyday. Doing it in places like ND and OU is impressing because of all the pressure and scrutiny going on. I really like how Kelly adjusted to the environment. He clearly realize that it would be a different ride than GVST, CMU, and Cincy...

I agree on the conversing. It just seems it's one post predictions for a couple.

Was saying the same thing to my buddy earlier. The best thing that could happen in this game is an early pass rush on Landry, a la the FSU bowl game. Landry is not half as mobile or strong as Manuel, and can get rattled. If we get to him early, it will really help our secondary a ton.

If we do this hopefully we do it the whole game..just not the first half.

Think of this, Colin Klein and Danny Spond are both Colorado prospects that chose not to go to CU. that team needs to do a better job of keeping their prospects in state.

hard to keep your prospects in state when your team has no tradition and your team currently isnt winning. i would expect the kids to be picked off by big name schools on a regular basis

KSU hasn't won a National Title in any school team sport, nonetheless football. CU has won a title in football and several other sports. They have significantly more tradition than KSU. It's a much better academic school as well.

Not to mention, Boulder, CO >>>>>>> Manhattan, KS

this is bill snyder and everyone in the Big 12 knows who and what he does ...which is win. colorado hasnt been relevant in football since bill mccartney won a national championship in 1990 and the tennis team etc likely have very little impact on where a football recruit goes

Like Illinois, North Carolina and Cal, Colorado is one of the most consistently baffling underachievers in major college football over the last 20 years. On paper they've got so much more going for them than, say, Kansas State. And yet...

Rutgers could be another team that could be very good if they kept everyone from Jersey.

Speaking from experience, I completely agree. Illinois has made some terrible football hires in the past couple decades. That has a lot to do with it. I would think that Colorado recently is the same.

You can talk all you want about only losing 3 or 4 times at home under Stoops or that OU is playing better now than they were earlier in the year. No argument to any of that.

Here's the bottom line. This Irish team may not be a juggernaut on offense, but it is on defense and this will be absolutely the best defense OU will have faced all year. They are relentless and don't let things rattle them.

This Irish team as a whole has a great mental makeup. They will not be intimidate by OU, the stadium or the crowd. Seeing that they are a heavy underdog on the spread, I would imagine that will just **** them off more than anything. This will be a close game, but OU better hope it's not, because if it comes down to crunch time and the Irish have the ball, Kelly may just call Mariano Rivera out of the bullpen again and then it's game, set and match.
