I'm not trying to sound like a d*ck when I say this, but why would anyone feel like we have a good chance (or anymore of a shot than any other school getting an OV) at this kid? Some are suggesting we are in great shape. I didn't get that vibe at all. I mean, he even goes so far as to say his relationship with Alford isn't like what the other recruits have. Not for nothing, but unless this kid gives his verbal this w/e, I hope the coaches are on the phone with Clement on Sunday night.
1.i completely agree with this
2.this is not what he said or implied..."I haven't really built the type of relationship that people build
once they start going to that school," Folston said of his relationship with Alford. "We've just been talking on a recruiter-player level." he doesn't need to be a "dad" to everyone..not everyone needs the emotional support of a relationship and he seems to be very mature about how he is handling this
I agree, he did not sound interested. Talking about how he didn't care about the other commitments being there, didn't have a great relationship with Alford (strange), etc.
1. he just doesn't sound like he is very outgoing, flashy and impressionable
2. he didn't state he didn't care about them being there...in fact it was said
Folston said he's looking forward to meeting the other recruits, but doesn't think they will factor into his decision much.
how is that not good...do you want someone to come just because of other recruits??? you want him to feel comfortable w/ the school.program/coaches and recruits..."
They're pretty good guys but still nobody is going to make a decision for me," Folston said. "I'm going to make this decision on my own. I'm not going to let anybody just boost me up."
3. he does have a relationship w/ alford...it's maybe not on terms of what lynch needed but not EVERYONE needs that support...HOWEVER it was alford who convinced him to come...if he didn't have a good relationship...do you think he would come...here is the exact quote "coach Tony Alford helped convince Folston to make the trip
