I am so FREAKING excited for our defense to take the field again.

I'm only 20 years old, so I've only been following ND closely for about the past 6 years...

But, NEVER have I been more excited to watch the Defense than the Offense...

Man, if we could just get the offense back to the productivity over the past 6 years. Then we'd be talking.

What are you guys looking forward to the most the rest of the season?

I'd rather avoid the offensive productivity of 2007-2008, thank you very much.

This year? I'm looking forward to a game where we potentially avoid turnovers.

The future? If you're excited for this defense, wait until 3-4 years down the road.

Obviously I wasn't referring to "The Year of the Sack"...

But in general, The Quinn and Clausen Era's at their prime, with this D!? Man that would be sick.

But like BGIF said, one win at a time.

I just got chills thinking of what this D is going to look like in 2 years, with Ishaq, Lynch, Nix, Tuitt, Darby, and Shephard.

That'll be our year, ladies and gentlemen. 2013. Book it.

No more waiting. If we pull our heads out, I like our team today. I could suffocate on the promises of "tomorrow" we've had to wait through.

I love our future, don't get me wrong (BurningRiver I'm with you) but I want it NOW.

Why put off till tomorrow what we can accomplish today. I like your thinking. We have the ability now, its now time to show it.

As a guilty pleasure, I like to imagine Brady Quinn, or Jimmy Clausen running this offense with the current D in place.... bitter sweet for sure.

What I expect: domination of the line of scrimmage both ways. Our big guys are already "there".

What I hope for?: the offense to smooth out so that the playbook can open fully up. That we ain't there yet.

First one only= 10 wins maybe, but nine likely. First and second both = 10 wins certainly and eleven if #2 happens quickly. We have to use the quality of the Bigs to get us through the next three games with victories, and allow the offensive "skill" boys to finally get it figured out without mistakes.

I think we put it all together next Saturday night against purdue. I think we blow them out of the water later 1st quarter. Our offense is too electric for their defense to keep up, and the offense they run is predictable and can easily be shut down by taking away Shavers and Bolden on the ground. We come away with a big win, 38-10

We need to have it running on all cylinders this weekend as well. We need to weekends aginst weaker team to get us stright and ready to play air force.

I'd like to see a huge lead against Purdue, and let the young offensive guys some playing time.

Ala, Hendrix, Koyack, and GA3 (at RB)...

While Brady or Jimmy could fare well in this offense with the improved defense, we should remember that both of their offensive lines were not as impressive as our current one is. Our offense has the potential to be better without those guys at QB. Call it the Longo effect, or better line coaching, or more physical practices...I dunno, but we are certainly more dominating. We don't/won't have to throw the ball as much if we continue to dominate the trenches, and if we're dominating the line of scrimmage on both sides it will translate to more wins. The true test will be to see how we fare against Stanford's linemen I think, they were more impressive last year.
