BYU is getting 14 on the spread on this. I would take ND on that all day long.

On paper they look like a decent team. Held boise state to 7. Still I think ND 35 BYU 9.

I am looking at this game as a tune-up, most likely an incorrect outlook.

I'd like to see an efficient passing game with some deep balls and also Golson going through his progressions. I want to see the receivers dominate the game.

I think this game could be a lot tougher than most are expecting... BYU is going to be playing with some serious motivation, has an above average defense, and is better than Purdue. Any team better than Purdue I no longer take for granted. I expect us to win (duh) but this game is certainly loseable... much like how FSU lost to NC State, Kansas State squeaked by Iowa State, etc. I hope our players approach this game with the required focus... it's something I'm worried about coming off such an emotional statement win.

I can certainly see why people would be a little nervous about this game but I'm not and here are my reasons.

-BYU doesn't have an offense. It's going to be very tough to points on the board and our front 7 will put a lot of pressure on their quarterback.

-BYU has a pretty decent defense, I will give them that but we have faced better defenses this year. I would say MSU and Stanford have better defenses than BYU.

-I have a feeling Tommy Rees is going to start on Saturday, which I am perfectly fine with. He is a master at pre-snap reads, which is something Golson isn't very good at yet. The offense clicks more with Rees in there. So if Rees plays, I think we will put up some points.

-The team knows what position they are in. They will come out ready to roll and I have no doubt in my mind about that.

This game is all about the offensive line and TE's. Mendenhall is going to bring blitzes. If we don't block well and give Golson time, we'll struggle. And we'll have to be consistent offensively all game, because unlike Miami, BYU's defense won't won't quit.
