I didn't see the BYU v #10 ORE St game.

BYU's original starter, Nelson returned from his back injury and was 28 for 51 for 305 yds and 3 TDs. He also had 13 carries for 39 yds.

ORE St's Starting QB was out with a season ending injury and his backup, Vaz, had a big day as well, 20-32, 332 yds, 3 TDs.

ORE St had 450 Total YDs against a defense that had held it's last 12 opponents to under 300 yds/game.

Recap and stats are at the link:

NCAA College Football Recap - Oregon State Beavers at Brigham Young Cougars - Oct 13, 2012 - CBSSports.com

I watched a little bit of it. BYU hung tough for awhile but Oregon State put it away in the second half.

If Golson doesn't try to do too much we should beat them pretty handily. If the light goes on for him it could turn into a blowout.

I don't see their offense being able to score many points. Their ability to kick field goals is so bad they consistently go for it on fourth down even when in field goal range.

BYU's offense wont be able to score on ND's defense... they have nothing.

The 10/13/12 Sagarin Predictor Model makes ND a 13.5 favorite over BYU in South Bend.

That's regardless of injuries/depth on either team.

Hopefully EG passes his cognitive tests and gets in a solid week of practice.. the fact that there are no classes this week can only help the kid too.

BYU defense offers a formidable challenge without being as dominant as Stanford's but better than Miami's.

I know that alot of us said this last week but this Stanford game was physical and a huge emotional win. I am sure Kelly and staff will do there best to keep these young men grounded. I hope Golson is ok and can make a return. Not saying he would have had the same outcome but he was driving the team down the field when he got hurt. Give the ball to Wood more and Get Troy back on pace. I think this game could be a 31-10 type game.

Like many of us I did not see this game becoming so huge. It sets up the game in Norman that will have the nations eyes should the Irish beat BYU. I'll continue my illustrious predictions and say BYU wins. Cant stop my streak now. Hats off to the guys who called Notre Dame being undefeated to this point. Concern over BYU's run defense and the Irish coming out flat. Now they have to embrace the pressure-cant do it any other way. This one is on Kelly and the coaches as Notre Dame on paper should get it done. This is a o line game.

Unless they look to Norman they will rock BYU... I have watched many BYU games this year... Yeah, I don't see them moving the ball at all.. And I don't think the defense is as good as others we have faced...

Classic trap game with Oklahoma looming... interested to see what happens. Definitely have the talent for a statement win like Miami... their defense is obviously overrated based on results against Oregon State, Utah, etc.

They will play up for us.

I think we win though.

Strangely enough I have seen a lot of BYU games also. I think they had some Thursday/Friday games this year and the only game on TV so I watch it. On top of that ND plays them so more the reason why I watched rather then change the channel.

Even though we aren't on the team it makes me nervous when the Oklahoma thread pops up more than BYU. I'd prefer not to see the Oklahoma thread until Saturday night.

I totally agree but the players know their job. They will be ready to play against BYU, Brian Kelly has been telling them to take it one game at a time since week 1

There is no reason to think that this game won't be 13-14 points. I think ND holds them to a field goal. 17-3 or 24-6. BYU isn't great, but on any day a team can surprise anyone. Look to the first series to determine game. If Notre Dame comes in, scores a TD and the ND defense forces a 3 and out, BYU will be broken. ND's D is one that, like a shark, smells blood and takes out what is in front of it.

Besides just getting thumped at home against Oregon St. Nelson is forced back into action with a back injury... Let Tuitt and Co. beat him up early and often and this ones over.

With the way we are playing i do not see a trap game this year. Our guys are coming out prepared to play each and every week. I think things are clicking as far as what it takes to play consistently week to week.

I would like some slants, for a change. That is, if input from the peanut gallery is being taken into account.

I would love to see Riddick, Wood, and Atkinson all go for over 100, but yes, open the floodgates late with an aerial assault that will have the train heading into Norman 125 mph.

ND 77 BYU 3
