Again his Dad was in support of him choosing ND, we have known he wanted to go to this game for a while.

If I remember correctly, his dad was the one who said after Alex decommitted from OSU that he would stick with the next school he picked.

He did say that in addition to saying he would take his time so it would be finished. We obviously don't know what is going on here but taking an OV anywhere would have to send a message. Kelly may or may not pull the offer but I would bet he's looking too if Alex is wavering.

Part of the problem with Alex may be that after the de-commit from OSU and the "this will be the final decision" of Notre Dame, changing schools again would have to be a little sensitive to face.

I suspect the staff is pretty dialed in.

You know this is the kind of stuff that makes recruiting so fun and gut wrenching at the same time. Alex will be one to watch all the way through signing day. To me he is very important to the program and is the type of athlete that will help us continue to move the best foot forward. Certainly is a story to keep our eyes on but just want everyone to enjoy the season and worry more about the games than recruiting. This season is off to a special start and I want nothing more than for that to continue tomorrow night!

Per rivals Sal says its an unofficial and is in contact with ND staff. ND mods aren't worried about it on all major sites, Florida mods think there is a good chance he flips. Farrell doesn't think its a big deal. Its whoever you want to believe at this point but he is going.

We seem to be going really hard after Clifton Garrett and Nyles Morgan. If we get one or both of those guys to go with Martini I am less concerned about losing Anzalone, though 2014 could still be rough with only Deeb to back up Grace and Moore, and Garrett/Morgan and Martini only true frosh. Maybe one will be Manti-ready to play though.

I still really want two ILBs in this class, and I still really hope Anzalone is one of them. I think he's great for us, on and off the field.

I like Rabasa as a football player but I dont think he has the lateral agility to play middle in 3-4.

No one is a lock. A commitment means everyone knows who the school to beat it. If you want to sign guys like Anzalone you have to fend off other schools. hat is recruiting. Let it play out.

True, bad word choice by me. I guess what I mean is that saying you are 100% committed to a school is pretty meaningless; as long as Anzalone is taking visits to his boyhood favorite I will feel like we have to keep fighting for him.

But this is the fun of following recruiting ... if every recruitment was simple it wouldn't be much fun at all.

I just don't see the big deal here. This visit is nothing new and I don't feel any less confident about his verbal than I did a week ago.
