Hurts our chances at getting Gameday in South Bend on the 13th. Be interesting to see how far Stanford drops.

Other notable games:

#3 LSU vs. #6 South Carolina - (LSU could lose at #11 Florida, SCar could lose vs. #5 Georgia prior to this game)

#12 Texas vs. #16 Oklahoma (Texas could lose vs. #9 West Virginia the week prior)

#15 TCU vs. #25 Baylor (Baylor will probably lose to #9 West Virginia beforehand)

The Oklahoma week looks like a solid chance, the other notable games:

#1 Alabama vs #21 Mississippi State

#13 USC vs. Arizona

#11 Florida vs #5 Georgia

The USC week looks doubtful, other games:

#2 Oregon vs #18 Oregon State

#6 South Carolina at #17 Clemson

#4 Florida State vs #11 Florida

I know Tommy has come in and played great as a back-up/reliever, but I don't buy the 'if it's not broke don't fix it' for this Stanford game. This is type of teams he plays terrible against. I can already see him running backwards, chucking up a duck over the middle of the field while being pursued by 2 of Stanford's lineman. I really think the Tommy we know will be exposed by this Stanford front 7. IDK how you guys feel about it, but I hope Kelly sticks with Golson for this one.

BTW, I saw that Stanford only had ~230 total yards. Yikes.

You know we have a game between now and the Stanford game, right?

Just watched the Stanford - UW game dvr'ed. Suddenly Stanford looks like a very winnable game for us. I am sure Stanford's front 7 is great, but you can't tell from that game because of all the injuries UW had on its O-line. Several starters watching from the sidelines. And in any case the Tree looked pretty inept offensively. Only caveat there is that Ty Montgomery did drop three beautiful long bombs for Stanford that could have changed the game. So I don't know what we really learned from this except not to fear their running game too much

Because of ND's contract with NBC, ESPN would never send GameDay to South Bend unless it's two undefeated Top 10 teams.

I think we need to take into consideration that Stanford beat USC and then went on the road on a Thursday night game and played a Wash St. Team that had played Portland State the weekend before. It was a classic trap game.

Can we win the game? Yes. However, it cannot be discounted that we were not even in either of the last two games against them, and they were really impressive beating USC. They are well coached, have a very aggressive defensive scheme with good athletes, and hit very hard. Offensively, they have a good offensive line that pounds the run, good QB, good TE's and enough skill position speed at RB and WR to be dangerous. In the return game, Montgomery is very dangerous. He's the fastest Stanford player I've ever seen.

Stanford had a bye week following the USC win, so they had a week and a half to prepare. And they lost to Washington, not WSU.

And Montgomery is much slower than Owusu.

Luck is in the NFL now. Nunes has shown next to nothing.

I wouldn't say that. He seems like the usual first year starter with a high ceiling. He's made a number of brilliant throws this season, and a number of boneheaded ones. He's a roll of the dice when he comes to South Bend.

Here's to hoping Tuitt, Te'o, and Shembo rattle him around a little bit

Stanford couldnt run the ball at all and Nunes has not playing very well at all. Missed some open WRs and and the few big play chances they had, the WR dropped the ball. But Stanford had a pretty bad run game from what I saw.

their defense was stout, but Washington had a make-shift Oline and they found ways to score points on some big plays.

Right you are. There goes my theory. LOL

I still think they'll be hard to beat. Their defense is well coached and aggressive. We need to stop them from scoring, but we've done that well all year.

It's not a game, its a month. And I'd assume that they'd've announced it beforehand.

I'd place money on Stanford having pink on the sidelines.

Edit: I see what your saying now. i just contradicted myself.

I'd assume that since they didn't announce it that they'll have it for the other 3 games in October.

They struggled to run the ball and gave Washington no reason to stop putting 8 in the box. Ty Washington could not catch anything. Stanford has no vertical passing game.

Some early morning time lapse video for our #NFLFilms project. Will be on NBC an hour before the Stanford game.

Their front 7 is big and stout. I expect us to spread them out like Washington did and beat them on the edge.

Avoided the upset

In OT Chase Thomas picked a pass off and then Taylor rushed for a TD.
