Middle LB's typically don't get more than 1 or possibly 2 INT's in a season, so this is a huge plus. If Manti continues to play like he does and the Irish continue to do well and only lose 1 or 2 games then he will get an invite. It would take a monumental season for Manti to win it. Not that he wouldn't deserve it, it's just the way the Heisman is.

And then if you are an optimist like I am, if we don't lose any games during the regular season and win the NC or atleast get to the NC and his numbers continue as they are or get better, than yeah, I would think he has a really good chance.

It would be so cool to see a defensive player win the Heisman for the first time in awhile! and being Manti theirs no other athlete that symbolizes what the Heisman means more then Manti

+1. We all feel the same way. Manti is such a special person , player and great representative of our University! There is not a single guy out there that is more deserving. He may not win, but he deserves a seat in New York and flat out deserves the Butkis Award!

Very worth it. Sit down and eat dinner with it or something. Shows the great man that is Manti as well as a players aspect of many things. Good stuff.

Haven't gone through the whole thing yet but I love th insight he gives on the team. Bennett's passion. Kevarae Russel calling him and Blanton for advice. Diaco's influence on the D. I am really going to miss this guy when he graduates.

I've been saying all offseason that I like this team so much it's hard to pick out one player to be my favorite.

Manti has made that decision easy this season.

That might be the most impressive press conference, interview, conference call, whatever, of any athlete I've seen.

I don't know how anyone can watch this and not appreciate the man that Manti is, let alone the student/player/leader.

He's confident, well-spoken, honest, and genuine. He is a microcosm of Notre Dame, but at the same time his own shining example. So happy that we've had the opportunity to watch him come to Notre Dame and grow into the player/student/person that he is.

Wow.

I named my dog after Chipper! He's a class act. Goes to work everyday, stays out of drama. He's the MLB's version of Brett Favre, pre-vikings. Plus, by all accounts, he stayed 'clean' in an era when top players were juicing all around him. It would have been so easy for Chipper to use PEDs, especially wiith all of the injuries he's had to recover from., but he stayed above that (at least as far as we know).
