Mark Dantonio seems even more sour than usual this year.

More importantly, MSU got hosed by that fumble being blown dead when the guy was headed unimpeded for 6 points the other direction. Game changing bad call.... no reason at all to blow that dead unless the ref was 100% sure his knee was down.

This is stupid.

I think its a legit thing to complain about. It probably does seem like sour grapes because Sparty lost, but I would be upset if I were them even if I had won.

More to the point, this is just the latest in a long line of sheisty, douchey things that Meyer does. At every turn he is doing something like this that, taken alone, may not seem like the end of the world. But just about everything he does rubs the people who have to deal with him the wrong way.

And I say this as a Bill Belichick fanboy and I respect that fact that in competition your #1 job is to win and not to make people like you. But this guy takes weaselly to a heretofore unseen level.

I think something was up with that fumble because Miller just flipped the ball. It was the weirdest thing I've ever seen. Then Miller peeks back at the ball and when Sparty gets it he starts pulling a Family Guy move holding his knee ouch moment. But yeah you are right, they got screwed cuz that was 6 for sure!

You serious, Clark? I hate OSU as much as the next guy, but its kind of strange to suggest that he just threw the ball on the ground then faked an injury to excuse it after the fact. The way his leg straightened up as he landed on it was gross to watch.

He definitely did just put the ball down as soon as he thought he hurt himself, but that isn't the first time I've seen that. Kenny Britt did a hilarious version of that last year on the play that he blew his knee out on. Just straight quit football in the middle of the play.

Yeah its always funny to see a guy just chuck the ball on the ground when he gets hurt. Its a great snapshot into how a person prioritizes. When you're carrying the football, nothing is more important than that football. Except if you hurt (or think you hurt) yourself, in which case that immediately becomes the most (and only) important thing in your world.

Anyway, my point was that I don't think the kid belatedly held his knee because he was embarrassed he dropped the ball. Just didn't look that way to me - his knee clearly hyperextended, and as soon as it did he dropped the ball and went to the ground, then grabbed his knee. Fortunately for him it wasn't serious, but I'm pretty sure he thought it might be in the moment.

But yes, definitely funny. I remember watching that Kenny Britt play over and over last year and calling all my friends to see if they had seen it.

I didn't mean funny haha I meant more fishy, I apologize that you took it that way like I'm some insensitive person that gets a kick out of other people's misfortunes. However I saw something different than you. I thought it looked odd and his reaction to the play struck me as fishy.

Rule change needs to occur: Don't blow the whistle during a fumble, regardless. They need to let it all play out then figure out if its a fumble later. I've seen to many potential fumble return TDs blown dead because a ref thought he was down and replay over turned it.

urban made it clear the moment he came on that he wasn't out to make any friends. the "gentleman's" agreement between big ten coaches to not go after another school's commits immediately went out the window the moment he was hired...aren't going to change any time soon either imo

It was a legit thing to complain about............. last week, when they got the film. Not after a loss. If it was such a big deal, and such a crucial part of their preparation, then why didn't they say anything about it leading up to the game?

They also got the film Thursday reportedly and they are supposed to trade film a week in advance. Do we know when the complaint was filed with the B1G?

Yep. That is one of the few wrong calls than replay can't fix.

Ha. Oh geez, here we go. Yeah, I don't think spygate was a big deal. I think the football public thinks it is because of the way Goodell overreacted to it and because people are simpleminded and not that smart.

First of all, the only thing against the rules about what the Patriots did was film from the sideline as opposed to from up in the coach's box. That's it. The rule was just that you weren't allowed to film from the sideline.

Second, if you've paid close attention, you would have heard that the Patriots weren't the only team to have done this filming thing. It was a common practice in the league. They just happened to have been the team that got ratted on by a former coach during a game right after the league sent out a memo about the practice. This point is more to say that it wasn't cheating because everyone else was doing the same thing than it is to say the Pats were totally innocent, because they did arrogantly ignore the league memo.

Third, anyone that says the Patriots "cheated" should be required to explain, specifically, how they could have used the film they recorded to help them in any significant way. People just lazily assume they could have recorded the film, edited it, studied it, taught it to the players, and have the players memorize all of it during a 20 minute halftime. Even if they did nothing else during halftime (which is obviously not true) it would be impossible to use the tape for any purpose during the game in which it was filmed. The best they could do would be to use it for the next game, and NFL teams change their signals every week (in large part because they know other teams are trying to steal their signals), so I'm still trying to understand the huge advantage the Patriots supposedly got. I'm sure there may have been some benefit in knowing a team's tendencies in the long run or they wouldn't have bothered doing it, but pretty clearly it was a minor part of game prep in the future, not the secret to winning any particular game.

Look, what the Patriots did was against the rules in the same way that speeding is against the law. What they did doesn't make them cheaters any more than someone caught speeding is a criminal. That the pandering, soulless commissioner threw the book at them is no more indicative of their guilt than if a traffic court judge sentenced you to a year in jail and fined you $100,000 for going 72 in a 65. It would say way more about the judge than it would about you.

Urban Liar is a lying scumbag; he is upset that Lane Kiffin took his moniker of Biggest Scumbag in College Football, and Urbie is doing everything he can to gain back the the title as soon as he can.

Santonio Holmes did it today, and SF returned it for a TD! This is an amazing and hilarious new trend of guys getting hurt and just chucking the ball! Its unbelievable.

It is a bit interesting. I've hurt myself before touching the ball and once receiving it made as quick of a hobble for the sideline as I can (and admittedly with a bad carrying technique leading to the occassional fumble) multiple times, but never have I thought of throwing the ball away so I can just flop right there.

It's just weird to me. Am I misreading you or what? I hope you got me when I say I didn't think it was funny that the guy got hurt. Miller's knee did hyperextend but he flipped the ball peaked back at it then after he saw what happened he grimaced. Like I said brother it just was one of the weirder things I have seen.
