GT wants him as a QB, which he called "significant". South Carolina wants him exclusively as a CB. He told 247 that Booker asked him what he wants to play, but he didn't say how he answered. Apparently most schools see him as a slot receiver; curious if that's what he would play for us or if we'd consider him on D.

Edit: new info from Sapp. ND wants him as a slot receiver and he would prefer to play offense, so that weighs in ND's favor. Juwaan has a great relationship with Booker ("It's good getting away from football sometimes because all coaches can go on and on about that, but he sees me as an actual person and not just an athlete") but distance from home is a major factor, and obviously that weighs against ND. Vandy and GT lead.

Great info emcee.

I'm glad to see Booker out there making his mark already.

Top 5: GT Tech, Vandy, FSU, Clemson and ND.

Booker is trying to get him to camp in June. Vandy and GT are his favorites because he visited there with his parents and they both liked those schools.

vandy's coach must be a heck of a recruiter...they're on a lot more lists than they used to be.

Tucker (Ga) WR Juwaan Williams sets official visit to Notre Dame for Sept. 22:Georgia QB sets up visits to Notre Dame, Oregon and Clemson | AJC College Sports Recruiting

Notre Dame: “I haven’t really seen them in person, but all the things I’ve been hearing about Notre Dame makes me anxious and excited. My former teammate, Jamarious Slaughter, has had great success up there. I may be able to go to Notre Dame and have the same or more success.” Williams has scheduled an official visit to Notre Dame for Sept. 22.

Top five in no order is ND, Oregon, FSU, Vandy, and Clemson.

Still being recruited at WR per the AJC article.

Everybody but Clemson is recruiting Williams as a wide receiver, while the Tigers like him at defensive back. Williams prefers wide receiver, but would play any position. He was offered at quarterback by Georgia Tech, which later filled the spot with another recruit.

“I love Georgia Tech but when I sat down and thought about it, I felt like it was too close to home for me,” Williams said. “Being in Georgia and around the Atlanta area for 11-12 years, I didn’t want to be back here for another four years. It would get boring to me.”

He went to Jr Day at CL & UGA, went to GT's Spring Game, and camped at CL, FSU, and VU.

I know he said it is about the relationship with coaches but something tells me this is the deciding factor:

"Then probably how far it is from home and if I can have an opportunity to have a shot at a starting position."

New II update this evening says that we are in his top 2 along with Oregon. Booker was in contact with him this evening, so it sounds like we r still actively recruiting him

I live in Tucker and have heard a lot about this kid. Didn't get to go watch them this year, but everything I hear about him is very positive on and off the field. Not sure if we are pushing, or just keeping the door open.

In the scenario where we have 4 spots, I think Williams is probably in play. Can play defense and offense. Others in front of him but he happened to be the 4th I wouldn't be mad

He's in play the same way Sebastian LaRue is... if the spots our there, our staff will probably look to take another "best available" skill position player. We'll see what happens.
