Hopefully they show some extra effort for their team this wek. I was going to pick Mich state but with this team being as close as they are, This team comes out pumped up on defense and wins this game for us. 24-17

I think that Manti is going to play some inspired football and rack up the best game of his career. If his teammates have his back the way I think they will, I don't think Bell will be as much of a problem as people think.

On another site (DD) they are saying that EG didn't take any live snaps in practice this week and that he truly does have a hand injury. The poster said that he heard from a team member that Rees may be starting. Any insiders hear anything like that? I hope this is strategic misinformation and nothing more.

I thought I had heard that he wasn't taking any snaps under center, but never heard anything about Rees starting. Figured that would be huge news, and all over Twitter even if it was just a rumor.

As reported earlier, Everett did have his hand wrapped in class on Monday so there was an actual injury. Not sure of any update since then.

Hopefully the person was mistaking no snaps under center for no snaps at all. That isn't a stretch. And it will help me sleep tonight.

I am so pumped for this game. I went to the Brian Kelly show tonight and even got a question read to Louis Nix. I am sorry to hear about Manti and his family. I am sure the nd family will be there for him. He is such an awesome person and I hope the best for him.

Go Irish!! Beat MSU

Well said.

I am really looking forward to this game, and I think that the team will rally around Manti, his family and his girlfriend's family as well.

Sorry if this isn't the proper forum for this question. I'm driving up for the game Saturday and was wondering if anyone familiar with the MSU area could suggest where to park on gameday.

From Arnold's "in this corner" article

"Meanwhile, opponents have scored 20 points in two games against the Spartans. 14 have come by way of pick sixes (one thrown by Andrew Maxwell in the Boise game, and one by his backup, Connor Cook, against CMU), and 3 of the points happened when Boise took over at the MSU 22 yard line. That leaves one solitary field goal that can be fully charged against the defense.

The surprise is that everything has gone so well so far; there really isn’t much to complain about. There have been isolated disappointments – Maxwell’s performance against Boise, the relative lack of pass rush at times, some struggles with pass protection against Boise – but even those have been either improved (Maxwell) or totally nitpicky. The bottom line is that the team has looked every bit as good as Spartan fans hoped it would."

Sounds like we will need to connect on some shots down field or special teams to put many points on the board. Defensive battle here, could look like a baseball score at the end but I'm going to call it -

ND 13, MSU 10

Where are you driving from? And are you trying to leave right after the game ends?

As you may know already, MSU campus is extremely spppppprrrreeeeaaaaadddddd out!

Option A:
So if you are planning on getting there early, you can find public parking closer to the stadium at Munn arena (the hockey arena) for like $20. The only thing is, i believe that parking lot is alcohol free. There are others around it though that permit alcohol.

Option B:
(which is what i did in 2010 becasue i knew i wasnt going to be up in East Lansing until about 3 hours before kick off, and I knew i was leaving immediately after the game) is to park at the south lots which is at the corner of MT hope and Farm LN. The parking is free or $10 depending if you are on concrete or grass, but you have to take a shuttle up to the stadium, which isnt bad at all. Its like a 5 min ride. The benefit to this lot, is that once you get back to the car, you are already 5-10 mins south of where everyone else is trying to get their cars out of parking lots, and you can zip on down the road and get right back on 96.

Have fun up there

GO IRISH!!

HERE COME THE IRISH!!!! OF NOTRE DAME!!!!

HERE COME THE IRISH!!!! OF NOTRE DAME!!!!

Review of Notre Dame vs. Purdue

Not going to lie here but last week was just plain UGLY! Coming off a 40 point win over an opponent who really had no chance to beat a team whose talent is starting to separate itself from the Naval Academy. The ESPN Analyzers were about 50/50 on if Notre Dame was going to blow out Purdue or that Notre Dame was going to be a little jet legged and either squeak one out or lose a close one which has been happening the past few years. Well we all know what happened last Saturday, but a win, is a win, is a win. The game last Saturday against Purdue can give all Irish fans hope and optimism for the future because games like those we were losing the past couple of years (For example Notre Dame vs. Tulsa in 2010).
I think Everett Golson played very well for his first REAL game, especially inside The House that Rockne Built. We all witnessed that young man starting to grow up right in front of our eyes and he could just become the next great QB in a long line of greats at Notre Dame. He can only get better from here. Then the other quarterback “Turnover” Tommy Rees, when I saw him warming up on the sidelines I immediately started praying Hail Mary’s. His performance was probably the best performance we have seen from Tommy in a long time. As much as I hate to say if the game against Michigan State comes down to two minutes left and were either tied or down by 3 I think Coach Kelly will put Tommy in and I’m starting to be fine with that.

Preview of Notre Dame vs. Michigan State

I don’t think anybody, except for Notre Dame Fans, remember the a** whooping we gave the Spartans last year in South Bend. All of the ESPN reporters are acting like they did last year before the game that Notre Dame is weak defensively and offensively who even knows. But hey this is a completely different team than it was last year, in my opinion a much better team.
The keys for Notre Dame to pull out the “UPSET” are to re-establish the running game, the offensive line to get better protection, put pressure on Maxwell and finally if we can control Bell we control the game.

Prediction

Notre Dame 24
Michigan State 21

This game could be close and on the other hand it could be a blowout. But we will have to see which teams first year QB will have the better game and I think that will come down to who the winner is. But I still like Notre Dame over Michigan State.

Huge game. How excited should we be about this season? Tomorrow night we'll know.

I woke up at 3:30AM this morning thinking about this game and couldn't go back to sleep.

I'm anxious to see what we do for this game. I feel really good about it and I don't know why. I have some theories though.

1. Wood, Riddick, Atkinson!
1.b. Tuitt
1.c. Atkinson!

I get the feeling that MSU is gonna be the team Atkinson shows out against his whole career!
