Haha, I wasn't going to say anything but with over 5,000 members it is hard to say only half a dozen could handle the rigors.
Could and did are two different things; that is my whole point.
Another point: 97% of kids that pay football until their freshman year of high school, never start a varsity game. 85% of those that play "interhall" football at Notre Dame, started varsity, and captain their high school team. Of the several million varsity players, coast to coast; less than 3,000 play division one college football, and of that, about 25 play for Notre Dame. It ain't just hitting on the field, it's hitting the books. And it is having the tremendous discipline to put both first, no matter what.
So when someone tries and falls short, I have no patience with the poster who wants to demonize, and I want no part of it. Lord knows when some knucklehead abuses the system I will be the first person to tear into them. Every situation is different. Who knows what the outcome of this will be? My whole original point was to put this in context. JP is not part of any house cleaning. And with everything set up the way it is, that is the impression some may get at what is happening.
Yep- we're all crystal clear on why Tee Shepard left; the family/geographic hardship Amir Carlisle received from the NCAA; how Cam Roberson was thought be done with football this spring, practicing this week, and now apparently done again; etc., etc.
With Tee, just watch his career. Amir is a quality individual that believed what he was told, and when it turned out that he had an entirely different wiring job than was required, so he came home, and didn't see a need to be penalized for it.
Cam is one of the most mentally tough individuals you will meet, as Coach Kelly is a loving (agape) individual (head coach). The chance was given to test what was suspected. Cam gave it
everything and he was afforded everything he needed to succeed in life. Nothing was left on the table. I would want this for my own kid. My respect his gone through the roof for both of those individuals.
