"a chara" means friend;

"Beir bua agus beannacht," is the equivalent of best wishes, but is literally: "All the best and blessings".

"Téigh Gaeilge!" is what I say when you say, "Go IRISH!"

And I used to call it Gaelic too. But then I was schooled. Scottish, Welsh, and Brittons spoke Gaelic tounges. I guess saying, "spoke Gaelic" is kind of like saying "spoke european." So you can Say Gaelic Irish, or just plain Irish. Lesson two will have to take place in it's own thread because, Tá sé ina tadhlaí!

Fuller seems like the kind of guy that could have upside of a Robert Blanton type career.... good ball skills + size but lacking elite cover-corner speed.... late round NFL draft pick as a FS.

Not sure for WR.

Great pickup!

Is the magic number still 22 for this class?

The magic number is 26 actually, but that includes possible 5th years.

There are 7 schollies still open for next year. It all depends on how many 5th years Kelly wants back next year. It may be safe to assume 3-5 more recruits for the 2013 class.

Possible 5th years: Cierre Wood, Chris Watt, Zack Martin, Dan Fox, Carlo Calabrese, Stockton, Tausch, and Jake Golic (I think Eifert falls into that category, but I believe it is safe to say he is going to the NFL after this season)

In the ideal season, I personally think the bolded names will go to the NFL (because they had great years that I am expecting) and the staff will only want either Fox or Calabrese back. I dont see a reason to take any of the last 3 names (italics) back. That is just my opinion though.

Notre Dame football: Fuller flips to Irish from Penn State - southbendtribune.com

Notre Dame football: Fuller flips to Irish from Penn State
Will Fuller stood on the sidelines and watched Notre Dame’s first practice of the fall on Saturday shortly after saying that he would stick with his commitment to Penn State.
By the time Fuller left campus on Sunday, the 2013 wide receiver from Philadelphia had switched his commitment to Notre Dame.
Fuller took to his Facebook page to announce the news. He wrote: “Committed to the University of Notre Dame. Talking about opportunities!!!! :)

Fuller, a senior-to-be at Roman Catholic High School in Philadelphia, becomes the 19th verbal commitment to Notre Dame’s 2013 class. Fuller joins James Onwualu and Corey Robinson as wide receivers committed to the class.
The 6-foot, 165-pound Fuller originally committed to Penn State in early June and now becomes the third prospect to decommit from the Penn State in the past three weeks. The Irish extended Fuller an offer after NCAA sanctions were handed down to Penn State. Other programs that had offered the three-star prospect include Boston College, Rutgers and Temple.
After visiting Penn State with a number of Penn State commitments on July 28, Fuller tweeted that he was sticking with his commitment to the Nittany Lions. Just over a week later, Fuller was swayed by the Irish.
Roman Catholic head coach Joe McCourt said Fuller loved Penn State and the coaching staff, but he saw opportunities at Notre Dame that trumped the Nittany Lions.
“Will wants to go to a place where he can get a good education, be surrounded by great football players and have an opportunity to win a national championship,” McCourt said. “He wanted to go out and see Notre Dame because that was his second choice all along and once he finally saw it he obviously fell in love with it.”
Notre Dame assistants Harry Hiestand and Chuck Martin had been recruiting Fuller and developed a good relationship with the wide receiver, McCourt said. Hiestand was seen talking with Fuller and his mother at Saturday’s practice.
As a junior, Fuller hauled in 46 passes for 758 yards and 10 touchdowns, highlighted by a 10-catch, 276-yard game with two touchdowns against Chestnut Hill Academy. Fuller reportedly ran the 40-yard dash in 4.4 seconds at a Penn State camp earlier this summer.
McCourt raved about Fuller’s talent at wide receiver.
“He's got unbelievable hands,” McCourt said. “He's got the best hands I've ever seen at the high school level. He's very quick. He's very elusive. He's almost impossible to cover one-on-one.”
McCourt said Fuller has long arms that allow him to make plays on the ball like a taller player, and that he can play any wide receiver position on the field.
In addition to his play on offense, Fuller also starts at cornerback for Roman Catholic, which gives the Irish flexibility to position him wherever his help is needed most when he arrives on campus.
“I think things are going to work out fine with him at wide receiver, but it's not like he's just a receiver,” McCourt said. “He can play corner too. In my opinion, he's just as good of a corner as he is a wide receiver.”
Rivals.com ranks Fuller as the No. 55 wide receiver in his class. 247Sports.com has him slated 71st at the position.
Onwualu, tight end Mike Heuerman and linebacker Jaylon Smith, all 2013 commitments, visited campus this weekend while Fuller mulled over his options. Onwualu said Fuller was quiet at first while taking things in but opened up the longer the three commits were around him.
“We hung out with him a lot and I think he was looking for that,” Onwualu said. “He and his mom both wanted somewhere that he felt comfortable and it definitely helps to have people that you know you're going to be around every day to hang out with on your visit.”
A quick Twitter search of Fuller’s name showed Notre Dame fans offering congratulations and Penn State fans sharing disappointment, some with respect and others with harsh fanaticism. What is a gain for the Irish is a loss for the Nittany Lions.
“It's unfortunate for Penn State,” McCourt said. “They're right in our backyard. We have a lot of respect for those guys, but Will's got to do what's best for Will.”

Does that number reflect Carrico no longer being a part of the 85?

Don't know how long Fuller's coach has been coaching, but when he says he has the best hands of any HS player he's seen that has to be worth something. With the hands, speed and log arms, he could be the sleeper of this class.

Welcome to the family Will.

SIAP,

@ISDUpdate
Devin Butler on Fuller: "Dude is a beast can't even lie I faced him at a 7on7 in Philly and he was one of the quickest WR I've faced all year."

Sleeper ala Brown you say? I like it! Once again a versatile skill player helping out with quality depth. Can't be a bad thing!

Will Fuller decommits from Penn State Nittany Lions, picks Notre Dame Fighting Irish - ESPN

"Top notch education really tipped the boat for me," Fuller told ESPN.com's Dave Hooker in a text message. "They have a 98 percent graduation rate for players."

"I just know I have a better opportunity at Notre Dame," he said.

And a reminder to how fast things can change in recruiting:

The switch came on the heels of last week's visit to Penn State, in which Fuller reaffirmed his commitment there. He tweeted July 28 that he was "100% committed to the greatest college."

Seems like this kid has really strong hands and ball skills. Many of the catches in his videos are very acrobatic. He's got hops and focus.

Once again Kelly brings in a versatile player where he can line up to best help the team. Time will tell but his philosophy allows for so many options to move players around creating competition and depth.

I can't agree more. Versatility will be our strength.

Teigh Gaeilge isnt grammatically correct though :) Probably would be better to say "Na hEireannach Abu!" You cant really directly translate from English to the Irish language like that.

Fuller reminds me of Lake Dawson. Long arms, good speed, good hands.
