Wow! Never seen a stud running back's recruitment sneak up on so many people, but I love it. He even looks like "the bus" rocking numero 6. Insane, can't wait, congrats young man.
Kind of concerning that he apparently wanted to commit to FSU before, and they wouldn't take it, and then committed to ND without ever visiting. I'll take it, but I just hope it sticks.
Looking at his high school, they were ranked 3rd best out of the Houston area in 2007.
In the 2005 school year:
508 of the school's 3,314 students took an Advanced Placement test; 89% of them passed and 30% received a perfect score.
The composite ACT score was 24.3, noticeably higher than the national average of 20.9.
A GPA of 3.8750 was required to enter the top quarter of the high school class.
The average SAT score was 1141, which is 113 points above the national average of 1028.
In 2008, Cinco Ranch was named a National Blue Ribbon School.
In 2012 Newsweek ranked them 354th out of 27K schools. Placing in the Top 1,600 places you in the top 6% in the nation.
In other words, this kid is also smart.
Nice research and thanks for the info. Reps.
I love this quote: "I’m 100 percent committed,” he said. “I’m taking every one of my visits to Notre Dame.”
To be fair, I took a few minutes to Wiki his high school. It's nice to know what kind of schools these kids are coming from. What kind of learning environment are the surrounded by. If he is already handling a tough work load in HS then his transition my not be AS bad as some others. It also will speak, albeit just a little bit, to the possibility of a de-commitment. If you're coming from a rough high school/neighborhood and are easily influenced, well, all bets are off. Coming from somewhere where the support system is strong and people are highly educated, then a commitment might mean more.
Not always the case as it's not a scientific fact but you get the idea.
