Jaylon Smith needs to be working on MacKensie and not Vernon.

No doubt I've been thinking the same thing. If we can get Sherit locked down then we can have him and Heuerman working on him too with the Florida connection.

The wise one Grubl has spoken to Mike Heuerman and learned that we have absolutely 0 chance at Mackensie because he wants to stay in the south. Always can count on him to break news

I dont care what Heuerman says, I'm pretty sure we have a chance. I think we'll at least get another visit. We've pulled kids who didn't even think of ND before

well that's discouraging if they are saying he is our best chance of landing an elite CB. This recruiting cycle I feel the recruits/commits know a lot more about each other than we do so if Mike is saying there is no way he is leaving the south even after having an amazing visit...then for now unless something else breaks I will believe it and sadly move on.

Mike probably has a better feel then most as I believe he was there for his visit and he played on the same 7 on 7 team. You don't spend that much time around a guy without having a pretty good sense of where he is at.

I think our best hope is if MacKensie's parents are wanting that ND degree for him and that they push/guide him towards ND.

Like I said earlier, without recruiting his brother... there are just too many hurdles to jump here.

very unlikely he ends up with us, which is a complete bummer. I'm hearing from a other people that Tee is posting thought of trying to return to ND on twitter..........

This kid and Priest in our defense are my choices. We can do. Hope Tee gets what he needs. I always liked him cause of how hard he worked to get what he's got.

Do we know for sure that these tweets are about Alexander? Not that I really doubt it; just wondering. I looked at Heuerman's twitter and I couldn't find Alexander's name. I'm not much of a twitterer though.

Unless there is a grade problem... I'm not sure why we don't go after his brother. He's better than some of the offers we have out there. Just watch his video.

Oh, and I still think we have a good chance with Mackensie. If we get an OV from him, he's ours IMO.

After watching his brother's film, I agree that we could offer him as well. His brother looks to have legitimate talent. I for one would love to get them both.

I like Meckenro's tape, but as TP said, we can't just bring anybody on. We're not Clemson.

If we could though, I would be real happy about it. He looks pretty good in his own right and those guys have a way of panning out. Josh Atdkinson wasn't nearly the prospect as GAIII, but he has a chance to get some serious playing time this year. Football is all about taking advantage of opportunities.

While we have other safeties ahead of Meckenro, he seems like a legit player and we desperately need help at corner. I'll take getting our 5th best option at safety to get one of our top corner prospects.

A lot more goes into an offer than tape...

As far as Heuerman/Grubl lol

Oh I know, that's why I prefaced what I said with the statement about the grades (and I know that's not the only things). I just think that if it helps with Mackensie, Mackenro would be a stud on, at the minimum, ST. The kid plays, and looks, mean.

Just my opinion though.

Also depend what we're willing to give up elsewhere. We only have limited places left in the class and are still in the running for some top prospects so can afford to be a bit picky on who we take and who we don't.

Is giving Mackenro a place in order to get his brother more preferable to say... getting LJ Moore and Alquadin Muhammad/Jordan Sherit?

It wouldn't be an issue with numbers. He might be better than any corner that we even have an outside shot in for the '13 class and I think we would take both VHIII and Alexander if they wanted to pop. I highly doubt we end up with VHIII and I would actually prefer the Tee/Alexander combo, personally.

Yes.

I'm a proponent of telling a 5th year that won't see the field, "sorry, you had a great 4 years." This is how we could do it.

I dunno man... Jabril Peppers might round out the top 3 players in the class next of '14.

yeah, yeah, yeah... multi-quote button. Didn't work out that way with timing.

bird in hand, man... that would be one blue chip corner for each class of '12,'13','14.

No sense passing on a 5 star stud in the hopes that we land another in a class more than a year from now.
