Maybe this has been discussed before but do you guys think Rees will get suspended for a few games? I think hey may get suspended for a couple games, one because he deserves some sort of punishment but also because it allows the following scenerio. It will allow Kelly a chance to start or play both Hendrix and EG in our first couple easier games. This will give Kelly two options. 1. One of the two establish themeselves as the starter and the season continues with them at the position. Or 2. They both stumble through the first 2 games which allows Kelly the opportunity to plug Rees in after his suspension and say Rees was going to be the starter all along? Thoughts?

I think he could get suspended. But it all depends on how the judicial system plays out too.

He certainly won't get suspended so Kelly has an easier route to give the starting job to Hendrix or EG. The best QB will get the job, hands down.

LAX made a post in the michigan thread the other day basically saying (paraphrasing) that we shouldnt have lost to michigan the last three years as we had the better team all three years. i didnt buy that then, and the loss to navy two years ago is evidence of that specifically. we got worked up and down the field. offense couldnt move and defense couldnt stop.

navy is not the throw away game it was for 50 years. since '07, i've hated this game because of that damn triple option/cut blocks game plan.

now, the purdue game sets itself up as the perfect trap game. jet lag, etc.

The Navy game Kelly's first year has nothing to do with Michigan or how good of a team Notre Dame is. That was the visceral effect of the loss. We lost to a team that wasn't anywhere as talented as we were. The last few years of Weis and the first year of Kelly were all about quitting before the game was over. That was the first two years of the three losses.

So for the sake of conversation there are two betters: talent and ability; then effort and production. By player most would rank ND ahead in the former category, if for no other reason than RichRod had to steal defenders to feed his offense, and most of the best talent was hurt. The latter is why Michigan won all three games. I believe the corner play of last year’s game will go down as the last blow job, I mean time you see ND players quit on the field before the game is over.

I agree but if he makes the decision for either EG or Hendrix and they wilt on the big stage it allows him to save face going back to Tommy

I personally don't think any of this happens it was just some off season chatter. I'm pulling for EG to kill it.

What the hell? Floyd had a DUI, and it was his 3rd violation with alcohol during his time at ND.He didn't get any real game action, and his DUI came what, a month or 2 earlier than Rees'? NO way does BK gave Rees (a guy ND fans don't want to see play) 4 games while he gave Floyd (a superstar) only a spring game (among other things - but no games). He can't justify that. Rees will be punished, but 4 games (or more)???? No way I see that happening.
