I'm with you. I have the highest of expectations for ND this year and really think that the boys are going to surprise a lot of people this year with their play and then their record. I see no real reason why they can't beat Oklahoma, Michigan and Mich State. We just need ball security. I know we are losing Floyd this year, but for all intents and purposes, this is the same team as last year, but with more depth at WR, RB, DL and most likely, a new QB starting in Dublin. If it weren't for a few untimely fumbles and interceptions last year, we are a 10-2 team. I fully expect our boys to surprise everyone this season.

I think them losing their 4 player (2nd and 3rd WR if i'm not mistaken) will really help our secondary and I know our DL/LB can hold up against their rushing attack (they were only 50th in the nation last year). As for offense, they gave up 22.1 ppg and we scored 29.2 ppg last season and we played some much stiffer defenses (FSU, Stanford, USC, Keuchly). I know its a bit of a stretch, but I really wouldn't be surprised if they pull the win and think the 2 teams are better matched then people think.

I also meant to throw Stanford in there too. They won't finish top 20 by the end of the season.

This is true, and Landry is still a stud, but like many of us around here like to say, just cause you are a stud in HS and practice, it doesn't mean anything until it's shown on the field. Either way, it's going to be a good game.
