I have read where Tony Alford will be one of the candidates to become the head coach at his alma mater Colorado State. They will be looking at several candidates and moving quickly so we should know more soon.

Very low probability. In fact, this really isn't even worth posting. This all originated from a local newspaper spit balling about who might be good candidates...

The good thing is Steve Fairchild was a former CSU Ram QB with NFL ties, but no head coaching experience and that did not go so well. I think they hire someone with head coaching experience. I would say that they have been trying to recruit heavily in Florida so would love Alford's connections.

Everyone tries to recruit Florida heavily bro.

CSU never used to until recently. Most teams out West in the WAC and Mtn West would recruit only California (out of big 3 recruiting states) and not bother with Florida. CSU changed this philosophy late in Sonny Lubick's tenure because he had ties to Florida and the Miami area.

If this is true, I would expect Kelly to get Alford a big time pay raise to keep him in South Bend. He's a great guy whom Notre Dame needs.

gonna be tough for him to get this job...nothing against tony, but no playcalling/head coaching experience, just don't see him getting a head coaching position.

"BTNTomDienhart: Colorado State is a GOOD job. Look for Jim McElwain; Tony Alford; Billy Gonzales; Steve Loney; Vance Bedford. More to emerge."

Jim Mcelwain took it so no Tony Alford going to Colorado St.

This rumor was dead before it started. I'm still a tad bit worried about Hinton though. We'll see after the bowl game I guess.

Tony expressed a lot of interest and like most people in life would like to move up. I think he would be willing to listen if CSU or Charlie came calling about an OC position.
