WHO GIVES A **** WHEN HE PICKS!!!! The longer the better IMO. Why are people attacking him here? I hope he or his family dont read this. It's his decision, he can make it whenever the hell he wants too! Who the **** are we to say anything about his character??? If he comes to ND I want him to make the decision when he is ready, if he choses elsewhere....so be it.

This.

He has again changed his timeline. Now, he thinks he will decide in July or Aug. rather than June. This is like the 5th time he has changed this timeline.

Given our poor history with recruits that had even less "flakiness" than him, I wonder why we should even bother.

How old was he? Has he completed the manditory recruit training certification course as compiled and presented by the NCAA clearing house?

Because he is worth it. Maybe, just maybe.

We have a certain QB in our roster whose flakiness far exceeded that of Ebenezer. I doubt any of you are saying he wasn't worth it.

U.S. Mars. I am a fukkin' alien. Me and my buddy Otis Sistrunk. I took a Rocket to get here. He is the much better looking one: "Ooh-rah!"

"During a Monday Night Football telecast, a television camera beamed a sideline shot of the 6'5", 265-pound Sistrunk's steaming bald head to the nation. That, along with his lack of a college education resulting in the team program listing Sistrunk's academic background as "U.S. Mars" (short for U.S. Marines), prompted ABC commentator and ex-NFL player Alex Karras to suggest that the extraterrestrial-looking Sistrunk's alma mater was the "'University of Mars'."

Otis' history - going directly from William H. Spencer High School in Columbus, Georgia to the United States Marines. After leaving the military, the 21-year-old found work at a Milwaukee meat-packing plant and played two years of semi-pro football.

per rivals he said he could make his decision in July or August. So at this point whenever he pops someone send me a text because i don't even think he knows when he wants too. By the way guys lets not take gabs at 16 year old kids who are making such a major decision.

Yes but if he pushes his decision back a couple months I believe he will be more comfortable with it. He will take officials visits. Just because a kid decommits is not a shot on his character at all. Pretty sure we have a QB on roster who change his mind. O wait we have two.

He's ours.... gut feeling. June is a good month.

Based on this: “I'm just thinking about my future, a great opportunity to play in the NFL and becoming the best player I can be preparing me for the NFL,”

I would bet all of my money on Florida. Florida sells football factoryto recruits; we don't. And if that's really his focus, I honestly think he's better off not at Notre Dame which will make you develop as a student/man and not just a "ball player."

Totally agree. If all he's interested in is the NFL, he should go elsewhere.

We have put 167 more players into the NFL than Florida has.

Florida put two players into the NFL this year (Rd4,Rd5), while Notre Dame put four (Rds 1,1,5,5)

While Florida has put 20 player in the league over the last five years, Notre Dame has put 14 in during that time despite sucking on the field.

So good logic, newbert...

Seriously, we're already seeing the "I didn't want him anyway because blahblahblah" thing, when he hasn't even committed anywhere yet?

Maybe he feels like playing in ND's defense with the likes of Jaylon Smith WILL get him to the NFL, and that is what he's referencing. And what will you say if he does choose ND? "Nah, I hope he decommits because all he mentioned was NFL hopes in that one interview?"

@wooly

Classic says "If all he's interested in is the NFL, he should go elsewhere." and that couldn't be more true. Notre Dame is absolutely great at putting kids in the NFL... that's not the point though, the point is kids who come to ND who ONLY want it to be an NFL preparatory place tend not to be good fits and results on the field suffer accordingly. Either that or they decommit the moment we don't win 10+ games.

@IrishLion

I frankly hope he doesn't come here if all he wants to do is go to the NFL. Period. Is that clear enough? Recruiting football-first guys does not work. Have to have kids who want to be at Notre Dame for Notre Dame. Obviously, limited quotes in articles leave a LOT of room for editing/interpretation... but if he meant it the way it reads then he is likely not going to be a good fit and has a very high risk of decommitment.

The cautionary tale are articles like the one last year with "quotes" from Chris Brown's dad that made him sound completely different than his actual intentions. But until information is provided to the contrary, you have to assume he's a "football-first" guy and I've consistently for months now said I don't want those kinds of kids giving early commitments to ND.

^^ See Lynch fiasco for most recent examples of both.

I just think it's a bit over-the-top to say he doesn't belong at ND because of one quote, though I do understand where you're coming from. It's hard to get a full idea of where a recruit truly stands with limited info like this, I just think it's a bit early to make assumptions like "it seems like he is ALL ABOUT and ONLY ABOUT getting to the NFL, in which case I don't want him."

EDIT: you addressed my point in your "cautionary tale" edit, which I saw after publishing this
