A) Now we know EE is a good pass blocker and has the legs to play on the offensive side of the ball. What happened to all the verbage, "OSU is going to convert him to a db?" Everybody dogged UM for lying to him. Now it's "OSU will take another running back?"

B) EE just seems to be a great guy and good player, and ND just wasn't for him.

C) Maybe, we don't need a running back this cycle, at all. Maybe what we need is to let GAIII and a couple others develop.

D) For all of you pithy individuals that keep score, with Smith and Heurman alone, OSU can not win the recruiting battle with Our Lady this year. Sorry, no way. AND there is more to come, (our way.)

I'd be one of those pithy fellows. What is the score, 2-1 Notre Dame?

Notre Dame: Heuerman, Smith

Ohio State: Elliot

No actually not.

I - You are definitely not pithy. (Occasionally a tad goofy)

II - Not 2-1 because Jaylon Smith is worth way more than 1.

III - Jaylon's comments about what he learned from his brothers recruitment ended the competition!

IV - Both of our's have older brothers that play for theirs.

V - Alex and the super fan, or . . .

They won my recruit of the year and Boom last year.

3-2 OSU.

That's the way I look at it.

Well I'm looking at it as one person being one recruiting battle, regardless of how big time they are.

Notre Dame: Heuerman, Smith

Ohio State: Elliot, Decker

Who is the third Johnny?

Anzalone will make this three for ND.

Perkins.

I realize he decommitted, but I still feel like he was a blow.

True on Anzalone. So the potential is 3-3.

From all I've read, I get the impression that we decommitted on Perkins (due to academics, character) more than he decommitted on us, so I don't really count him if the point is to measure wins in head-to-head recruiting battles. I think we basically gave him up for whomever else wanted him. However, if you count Perkins, you should probably count Tommy Schutt too, since he wanted to commit to ND, we told him "no," and he ended up at OSU.

Dont forget Devonte Neal boyz! 3-3 (Schutt doesnt count, he was looking to land anywhere, ND said no, scUM said no, PSU had a pervert on campus and O$U was like the 4th choice!)

Good call on Neal.

4-3 we on top.

But, in a great year, we get all 7. All 7 would be great.

And I wouldn't trade who we got for one: I would trade Decker though, I know his heart wasn't in it but damn: dude is a beast. Matt James style beast.

Yeah Decker has already been talked about for competing for playing time already...damn

You just reminded me of James. God bless James and his family. What a horrible loss all around.

Matt James was a Buckeye state kid headed to Our Lady.

Decker reminded me a lot of him. And then he flipped. Lol.

Decker stung.

But I'll take what we got over what they got.

Source: 20+ year very good buddy from the Marine Corps. Father of kid at EE's school.

Info is about 4 weeks old.

States EE was promised by UM that he would be only RB taken by OSU.

EE has stated to my buddy's step son (who has been friends w/ EE since they played pee wee football together) that if UM takes another RB, he is dumping OSU and ND is a very strong consideration.

Totally hearsay, but thought I'd share seeing LAX is hearing stuff.

If we would have made the same promise I guarantee Zeke would be committed to ND right now but back on Junior Day we couldn't make that guarantee w/ so many names still in play

Is OSU still looking at a RB anyone? (GB, GITF)

It seems like we shouldn't get to excited at the possibility unless pOSU takes another back. If they do take another back, I'm sure EE would be ticked, and rightfully so.

Where have I heard that before? Sherm is also on the case. If Lax comes back and says he's the only one that gives good info, I'll know we're onto something.

They are still going after Derrick Green who has said he likes OSU but isn't sure if their offense suits his style of play.

Taquan Mizzell also.

They certainly haven't stopped recruiting RBs.

Yeah, guess I'm late to the party on this info. I just talked to a dude this past weekend who tends to be plugged in to things and said that there is open dialogue between ND and Elliot. Apparently a bit of buyer's remorse but more that Elliot would just like to keep his options open in case things don't shake out like he wants at OSU. Also, apparently a lot of the out of state guys who were "pressured" into commitments have wavered a little/are wavering... or at very least they are answering the phone when other coaches from other schools give them a ring......
