I don't think Southern Cal will be as much of a factor as some want to make them out to be. Momma has made her intentions known of keeping him closer to home. ND or tOSU will be his course.

Maybe he added USC just so they may extend him an OV and he uses that for the ND v USC game at the coliseum. This would be the best case scenario.

The way these HS kids are these days, it seems to me, that maybe around 60% of the verbal commits a school gets actually stay with them, the other 40% seem to wait and see how the season goes before they commit to that school. As excited as I am with who we have so far, I really think the o-linemen verbal commits that we have are really the only ones that we can legitimately say will be with ND next year at this time. Any of those other flashy position style players all seem to wait and see where they can plan first and have the biggest impact. If we have a great season then here come the recruits, if we win any less than 8 games, I can see a lot of decommitments come at the end of the season.

There are elementary schools that are giving Ipad's to students now. Also discussing not teaching students cursive writing anymore and spending more time and typing.

I thought that student athletes were supposed to receive anything beneficial that a regular student couldn't also benefit from. Not that it doesn't happen anyway.

with usc firmly in the mix we would be deluding ourselves not to be worried about the possibility he ultimtely pulls the trigger for them.

gun to my head if i had to make call from all ive read id say he is irish in the end.

we all hate them, but one thing is a fact fUSC can recruit anywhere in the country.
no one does it better....unfortunately for us.

I hate them especially because they target our top recruits specifically in a despicable game of keep-away.

Lifted from SI.com:

Despite the negative trend, however, Meyer still has several top options on the board. Indianapolis (Ind.) Warren' s Tim Kimbrough has made no secret of his affinity for Ohio State, and the program appears to be the frontrunner to land Fort Wayne's (Ind.) Jaylon Smith. Though discouraging now, the Buckeyes' linebacking weakness could soon become an area of strength.

Yuck....

Thats some pretty poor reporting on their behalf. Who was their source on that? Unless they spoke with Jaylon himself this past week and he said he was an OSU lean, then they are way off base. This is why recruiting gets so annoying. Even "expert" reporters just throw around guesses and pass it off as news. There are people on this board who do nothing related to sports who have WAY more inside info than these "experts".

Not our insiders. lol

Well the "insiders" at 247 like Steve Witflong, and the ones at Rivals/Scout all said they didn't see Ty going far from home.

I wasn't shocked when he picked USC, but a little surprised because all of those guys at those sites were saying he won't go that far from home.

USC is a damn thorn in the side though. They can go into any state and get a kid. It's ridiculous.

All these kids grew up with a dominant USC program and after being "down" for just a little while, they're projected as one of the best teams in college football again. The talent is definitely going to continue to flock there for a while longer.

That's what all the "insiders" said about Ty Isaac.

USC is pretty much the one school out there that can pull any kid from anywhere. I hate them for that.

Sorry, resident UM fan, most "insiders" had him going to Southern Cal or Ann Arbor. I felt from the get go he'd end up a Trojan brand.

Not uncommon. Woody used to steer recruits he didn't want to ND, to keep them away from scUM.

My boss at work said Urban was likely to do the same thing.....don't know if that's true or not, but I wouldn't object in the least.

Different day. Different time. Different coaches. Different recruit prospects.
