He reported very early on on Deontay Greenberry to Houston as well.

I don't know a ton about him, but he does seem to have a base level of legitimacy.

He also erroneous said Gunner-to-ND days before he originally committed to LSU. So my money is on him intelligently throwing darts at the proverbial dart board... but it's also possible he has a "source" who gets good feelings/tidbits and just goes off those hunches as fact. I guess we'll see.

I am just trying to get the speed on the field at the same time. That means BOTH Councell and Smith ---- maybe Diaco can create something utilizing Grace and Ishaq for power, Ben for Dog Speed, and Jaylon Star-roaming and creating chaos. I don't know what it would look like, but the athleticism is out-the-roof.

He'd be pretty perfect at dog, but if Councel or Spond develop, and the staff wants to have him on the feild with older guys, the hybrid position makes sense for his fr. Year.

These posts are confusing me. My understanding was that the DOG and the Star hybrid player will never be on the field at the same time because they are basically the same position -- we just call it DOG when it is a 240lb./4.6 guy and Star when it is a 210 lb./4.5 guy. Is that not correct?

I do think OMM is on to something with Councell and Smith on the field at the same time though. Against smaller, quicker teams, I could see it being very effective to pull Ishaq/Shembo and use Councell and Jaylon as the two OLBs.

Actually. He wasn't alone on that. I had a source close to the family that was telling me the same thing. Considering that he eventually did end up at ND, I don't hold him accountable for taking reliable information and making an educated guess. He wasn't alone.

haha... the irony of my statement just occurred to me...

Yeah, that's essentially my second half of the statement. There's a reasonable chance he is "plugged in" to ND through a source or some other means... and then takes whatever rumblings he is getting and posts them up as fact. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

That's a really good way to look at it.

Even if he does commit to ND this weekend he's not going to make it public until June.

Why's that?
Because that's been the plan for awhile now that he would be in June and the fact that there is a new article on ND scout site that has his coach talking about it's getting close and ND is very much in play but that he's most likely not going to announce until June.

Hence what I said, that he tells the staff that he's committing but going make it public sometime in June.

My point is that he very well could commit this weekend but don't expect to hear about it, all we are going to get is rumors.

Could be right...but a lot of recruits have a "plan" to commit at such and such date....then things change

Originally he planned to commit in July. He moved it up to June rather recently, why not move it up again?

I do not see what the point is in holding back on making the decision public. Like Manti tweeted, He knows where he wants to go.
