I am by no stretch a Yankee's fan but I am however a huge Ichiro fan! So from now until the end of the season go pinstripes! I would like to further add my admiration for Jeter. Class act in my book and wouldn't mind seeing him add to his jewelry collection as well! Oh but you can have A-Rod:)

ND's Phelps loses in 13, the night after NY wins in 12. A very competitive series.

Jeter got his 199 post season base hit. First time he didn't play SS.

The Yankees' bats are making Darren O'Day look like Cy Young. Dude has allowed zero hits and surrendered one walk over five scoreless relief innings.

Is it possible in the bottom of the 12th Tony Pena looked at Girardi before Granderson hopeless flailed at strike three and said, "We should have gotten a live chicken."

Yea.... It's pretty discouraging. It's not only the fact that they aren't getting hits its the fact that they look terrible

I think I read last night the Os were 0-8 or 0-9 RISP before the doubles in the 13th. The Yanks were the same except for Cano's groundout. In the second game, the O's only got a half dozen hits off of Pettite but they put 4 on them and a walk bunched together. Yanks broke the first game open with a flurry in the 9th. Aside from those two innings, one per team, it's been small ball.

And for A-Rod and Granderson no ball.

CC. sends the O's home, 3-1.

In Game one C.C. goes 8.2 throwing 120 pitches for the win. Today he threw 121 for a complete game, 4 hitter. 17.2 innings pitched, 1.58 ERA

Ibanez hit .444 for the series, Tex .353, and the Captain .364. Aside from them the Yankee attack was dismal. Only Ichiro made his weight.

Ichiro, .217
Martin .176
Granderson .158
Swisher .111
the season ending hot hitting Cano at .091
Chavez replacing A-Rod at .000.

Is A-Rod now the most pinch hit for 600 homer and lifetime .300 hitter in baseball history?

Yanks are gonna needs more runs against the Tigers.

I am not a yankee fan by any means but that was actually a very good series between the O's and Yanks.

If these guys had been hitting the series wouldn't have been close. I've been a Yankees fan since the early sixties and I don't remember them struggling top to bottom with the bats and still winning. I'm glad this series is over. I think the bats will now come to life.

Val-freaking-varde blows it. AGAIN.

Blowing the work of the offense, and starting pitching. AGAIN.

The Ecstasy and The Agony.

Great comeback in the 9th and tragic loss of Jeter in the 12th. He's tough but I'm afraid he's done for '12.

Well the other Great American Franchise won and is going to a BCS Bowl.

Jeter fractured ankle per Girardi. Three months healing time according to the trainers.

Verlander goes 8.1 allowing 1 run on 3 hits as NY makes some 9th inning noise before succumbing 2-1.

Hughes gone with a back injury.

Wed Sabathia v Scherzer.

CC may want to ask Girardi about letting him take some swings.

As a casual baseball fan, at best, would the Yankees fans in here like to see A-Rod in pinstripes next year?

The Yanks stopped playing in October. The Red Sox shut down in August.

Aren't you still celebrating clinching Last Place, Frank?

This is like old times-when I was growing up. The only thing Red Sox fans had to celebrate was the Yankees losing and that didn't happen often. The link I am posting says it all as far as this years Sox team goes.

First let me say: It's not my money. I don't care how much they are paying him.

Here's a list of free agent 3rd baseman this offseason:

Geoff Blum, ARI
Miguel Cairo, CIN
Eric Chavez, NYY
Mark DeRosa, WAS
Kevin Kouzmanoff, KC
Placido Polanco, PHI

I don't see a better alternative on that list...so yes, I would like to see back next year.

It is sad to have to take great satisfaction in another team losing rather than your team winning. I would much rather both teams be competitive. Not sure when that will happen again.

we need an overhaul. Try to find a younger replacement at 3b. Swisher just doesn't cut it. Rest of the team is solid. I'd consider trading Granderson if the deal is right.

Pineda, Jeter, Mariano will all be back. We will be fine
