Which would yield what result?

A Ghana advancement? Even though we won head-to-head?

We advance but the final minutes would be high stress because one Germany strike there and I believe we are done

I can't imagine being relaxed at any time tomorrow until I see Portugal up 1 with 10 minutes left. We're not going to get blown out, but Ghana could still mess shit up. Portugal being up 1 would almost certainly lock us into playing Belgium on Tuesday.

So basically:

If we win: We're in.

If we tie: We're in.

If we lose, and they tie: we're in.

If we lose by one, and Ghana only wins by one: We're in.

If we lose by one, and Portugal only wins by four: We're in.

Fun stuff. Fucking Bradley.

Yup I firmly believe the futbol gods are going to make us sweat this out. I think Ghana controls the other game while Germany gets ahead early or ties it late making us piss our pants at least once.

Ghana and Portugal both look like disasters now. Ghana talked about forfeiting, and Ronaldo is calling Portugal an average team. I wouldn't be surprised if both games are nil-nil or 1-1 draws.

I have a strong feeling the Ghana Portugal game will play out like this:

1. Portugal has to be extremely aggressive tomorrow so I think Ghana will get ahead early on a counter attack.
2. Ghana scores again as Portugal becomes even more desperate. 2-0 at half.
3. Ghana entrenches themselves on defense and gets to around the 75th minute before giving up a goal. 2-1 Ghana.
4. Ghana scores again late as Portugal gives up along with Captain Cristiano. 3-1 final.

We have advanced while not winning the last game twice. In 2002 we lost to Poland but South Korea knocked off Portugal, and in 1994 we lost to Romania but the fact that there were only 24 teams in that World Cup helped us move on.

We might need a 3rd time of great luck.

Which would be a likely plane ticket home for the USA.

Maybe. I think we play well enough tomorrow for a tie. I think the first half is going to be extremely boring because both teams will play safe to get to the half. Then depending on the Ghana score you might see the game open up a bit. If Portugal is up a goal or two I think both teams play to win and we might lose by a couple goals. If Ghana is up or tied at half I think our game ends 0-0 or 1-1. Just my gut feeling.

Best tweet I've seen so far:

REMINDER: The harder we beat Germany the more we have to help them rebuild.

LOL

Wow that's good. But wasn't Muntari already out for this game for 2 yellows or am I mixing him up with someone else?

I dont know exactly about Muntari but he is probably their best senior player. Boateng was subbed in late in their first game and subbed out early in their second... so.....

So lets talk some USA Lineup and tactics.

I say we line up like we did against Portugal starting out. I think Bedoya could be dropped in favor of Wondo though. I like having Dempsey and Wondo up front in a 4-4-2 against Germany's back line.

If I steam this game on my phone, what kind of data usage can I expect from it?

A lot. If there's a wifi network you can connect to instead of using data that would be best.

This. Wondo on for 60, then sub in Yedlin. Yedlin will blow by that slow, tired German defense.

Wondo is a poacher. Crosses from Zusi always seem to find his head.

Unfortunately I won't. So I'm left with the radio, if it comes in, or my phone to stream. I do have roughly 4.5-5 gigs to waste.
